RECEIVED THIS WEEK:
*DAUGHTER OF THE FLAMES by Zoë Marriott
{I ADORE Zoë and had to import this from the UK thanks to the Book Depository (yay, free shipping!) because I am impatient and can't wait for a US release in 2013! I've previously reviewed the amazing SHADOWS ON THE MOON (and had Zoë do both a guest post and an interview!) as well as THE SWAN KINGDOM. I think I'll be reading this series as my birthday treat later this month!}
*FROSTFIRE by Zoë Marriott

*SO SILVER BRIGHT by Lisa Mantchev
*SO SILVER BRIGHT by Lisa Mantchev
{Purchased used as a steal of a deal! The final book in the Théâtre Illuminata Trilogy. These covers are so beyond gorgeous. I've previously read EYES LIKE STARS, the first book in the trilogy, and didn't love it as much as I wanted to (I blame being sick at the time), so I've been buying these books used or as bargain titles when I see them for just in case I don't love the series as much as I want to. Finally, I have the third book and can read the trilogy!}
*A KISS AT MIDNIGHT by Eloisa James
*A KISS AT MIDNIGHT by Eloisa James
{So this was 99¢ on my nook. I don't usually buy books in this genre, but it's a retelling of Cinderella and I have a co-worker who says Eloisa James is a favorite author of hers. So for 99¢, I'll give her fairy tales a try!}
*ONCE UPON A TIME MACHINE by Lee Nordling, Jason Rodriguez, Tara Alexander
{Out Oct. 10, 2012}
{Out Oct. 10, 2012}
{Thanks to Netgalley and Dark Horse Comics! I adore fairy tales, especially when they get all mashed up and twisty, so I'm excited to check this out.}
*REBEL HEART by Moira Young {Out Oct. 30, 2012}
{Thanks to Netgalley and Margaret K. McElderry / Simon & Schuster! This is the sequel to BLOOD RED ROAD, which I read when it came out, but never got around to reviewing. We'll have to rectify that this time around!}
FREE e-books:
FREE e-books:
*PEACHES by Jodi Lynn Anderson
{Every time I saw TIGER LILY floating around, I knew the author's name was familiar, but always forgot to look it up. When this was a Free Fridays title on nook recently and I saw the sticker about the upcoming release of TIGER LILY, I realized why! I don't think this one is free anymore (it could be), but I keep forgetting to mention it here. I spotlighted TIGER LILY during Splash with an excerpt about mermaids!}
*THE FIERCE READS ANTHOLOGY Featuring original stories from Anna Banks, Leigh Bardugo, Jennifer Bosworth, Emmy Laybourne, and Marissa Meyer.
{I've previously reviewed books from Anna Banks, Leigh Bardugo, Jennifer Bosworth, and Marissa Meyer! I have yet to read anything by Emmy Laybourne. When I reviewed OF POSEIDON yesterday and checked to see the release date of Anna Banks' next book, I was excited to find this anthology and rushed to grab my nook. I was even happier to see it was free. Sweet deal!}
*GREY EYES by B. Alston and Q. Ramey
{I was just browsing around all the free teen books on my nook and found this. I know NOTHING about it, but it sounds interesting!}
*THE ROSE OF FIRE by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
{I love Carlos Ruiz Zafón's books and am excited to have a short story from him! He wrote New York Times Best Selling novels THE SHADOW OF THE WIND and THE ANGEL'S GAME, as well as teen novels THE PRINCE OF MIST and THE MIDNIGHT PALACE. A third book in his adult series, THE PRISONER OF HEAVEN, came out this past week. I still need to pick it up!}
*UNENCHANTED: An Unfortunate Fairy Tale by Chanda Hahn
{This one had me at fairy tale. It sounds like fun and I'm eager to read this!}
*GET A LIFE by Laura Peyton Roberts
{When I was in high school, I really enjoyed the Clearwater Crossing series. When I saw the first book listing for free, I couldn't resist downloading it so I can walk down memory lane and see what I liked so much about these books!}
*STRANDS OF MERMAID HAIR by Heather Moskowitz {Out Jan. 01, 2013}
{Thanks to Edelweiss and Simon Pulse! I'd like to try to get this one in for a spotlight feature during Splash this week...}
*ANATHEMA by K. A. Tucker
{This is another one that I don't know much about. I first heard about this book because it came out around the time Megg Jensen's ANATHEMA came out, and Megg mentioned that the book was enjoyable. I saw it for free in the teen section, so I figured I'd snag it and try it out.}
*THE RED SHOES by Bea Turvey
{I'm hoping that this is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale of the same name!!}
What did you get in your mailbox this week?
Great haul! I haven't heard of any of those titles but I really hope you enjoy them! :) I didn't have very good luck with Blood Red Road (I thought the author was Moira Young?) but there weren't any punctuation marks and stuff and I found it so hard to get into -.- Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Stacking the Shelves!
Oops, it is!! I overwrote last week's post and apparently typoed! ^^;; I think the slang definitely was a challenge, but after a few chapters, it faded away for me. If I put it down and picked it up again, I did have to re-adjust again, though.
DeleteEloisa James is one of my favorite adult writers. I just read the fourth book in the Fairytale series. It was awesome. Great week for you.
ReplyDeleteGrace
Yes, I have an e-ARC of that from Edelweiss. Fairy tales!
DeleteOMG, such great books you got this week! :D I totally want frostfire
