Week in Review: The Feed Your Nook Edition!

Week in Review

The Feed Your Nook Edition!

This week, I made my nook VERY happy.  It got almost all the love!

 Did you enjoy Splash into Summer?  I know I did!  I still have one giveaway to come (and some of the giveaways are still going on through the end of the month.  Check them out!), and possibly a review of H2O, but other than that, we're done!  As much as I adore everything under the scene...it's good to go back to what *I* want to read again!
READING NOW:

*SKYLARK by Megan Spooner
*THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin {Re-read! It's time to evolve!}
*SIRENZ: BACK IN FASHION by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman

Um...because I obviously can't stick to one book this week.  SKYLARK is expiring, SIRENZ is a tour read, and MARA DYER...well, I have a sequel I'm coveting! LOL.  I've started all three...and finished none...

*PUSHING THE LIMITS by Katie McGarry {Spotlighting soon, and there will be a GIVEAWAY!}

{What happens when you start four different books in one week?  You finish one of them...}

*WAKING STORMS by Sarah Porter

RECEIVED THIS WEEK:

 Physical Arcs / Finished Copies

*PUSHING THE LIMITS by Katie McGarry
{Thank you to HarlequinTeen for the lovely finished copy!  Check back soon to win a copy of your own!  The word of mouth on this has been incredible, and while I'm not huge on contemporary, especially when the covers are fluffier like this one, this was an issues book, and I love issues.  The story was gripping, the characters compelling.  I put down everything to read this when it arrived!}

 Purchased:

*THE ASSASSIN AND THE EMPIRE by Sarah J. Maas
{The fourth and final novella leading up to THRONE OF GLASS, which releases in August.  I can finally share my review with you soon!}

*THE SHADOW CATS by Rae Carson
{I loved THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS--which is on sale for $2.99 in e-book format.  Buy it!--and am looking forward to its sequel, so it's nice to have a novella to tide me over!}

*THE FIRST CONFESSOR: The Legend of Magda Searus by Terry Goodkind
{I'm sad that this won't be out in hardcover, since it won't match all of my other books, but it's interesting to see a bestselling author refuse his publisher's advance and self-publish instead, especially when a lot of his market has yet to dive into e-reading.  It will be interesting to see what happens!}

 E-books for Review:

*STORMDANCER by Jay Kristoff
{Out Sept. 18, 2012}
{Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Dunne Books for the special access!  I've been drooling all over this novel.  It's Asian-flavored and sounds AMAZING.  With all the buzz on this one, I actually thought it was a teen book, but it's not; it's adult fantasy...and that's totally okay with me!  I keep trying to work other books back into my life, lol.}

{Thanks to Netgalley and Month9Books! This is an anthology packed with amazing authors and full of one of my favorite things, retellings!  And Mother Goose Rhymes?  What a novel concept!  I believe some of the proceeds for this release are going to charity}

*THE EVOLUTION OF MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin
{Out Oct. 23, 2012}
{Thanks to Edelweiss and Simon & Schuster!  Ever since finishing THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER, I've been dying to know what happens next!  I was actually on Hodkin's site sniffing around on Friday, then saw the book up for review within minutes when checking Edelweiss, so I knew it was meant to me!  I just started re-reading THE UNBECOMING... yesterday so that I'll be ready to read this!}

 FREE e-books:

*THE LENS AND THE LOOKER by Lory Kaufman
{This was the Free Fridays title on my nook.  I actually have a review copy of both this and the second book.  I was going to read it when life got crazy, and then it's been mermaid time.  So I'll read it soon!}

*THE LIGHT KEEPERS by Mande Matthews
{I heard about Mande Matthews' book BONDED this week and saw a free prequel up, so I downloaded the prequel and a free sample of BONDED to see if I like it first!}

*THE PRINCE with free sample of THE MALICE OF FORTUNE by Niccolo Machiavelli; Foreword by Michael Ennis
{Random House is giving away a special edition of THE PRINCE for a limited time with a foreword by Michael Ennis, author of the upcoming novel THE MALICE OF FORTUNE, which is a DA VINCI CODE-inspired novel weaving together with THE PRINCE.}

What did you get in your mailbox this week?
