February: From Book Signings to Acquiring Highly Anticipated ARCs to the Return of the Olympics! {+TBR Haul Video!}
Book Signing Season Has Begun!
In February, I was lucky enough to meet A.C. Gaughen and get her new novel REIGN THE EARTH signed, as well as her previous Scarlet series. She was in conversation with Tiffany Schmidt, who writes the excellent Once Upon a Crime duology, and it was lovely to see Tiffany again! I also went to an awesome signing featuring Susan Dennard (TRUTHWITCH) and Elise Kova (AIR AWAKENS) promoting their latest novels, and it was a really fun event!
I'm going to a signing with Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs this week as well, and I even get to moderate, eep! #nervous
THE RETURN OF SPRING???
Last week, it was almost 80 degrees. This weekend, it snowed. What is up with this winter!? This past month hasn't been my favorite in the world, so I'm really looking forward to the spring and the places life may take us! Spring has always been my favorite season, but now that I've developed allergies, I dread its arrival a little bit. I had to break out my allergy medicine this week for the first time since last year!
FEBRUARY BOOK HAUL!
I had a really great haul this month! I bought a lot of books at book signings, I got to do a #BooksForTrade for my most-wanted-ARC because the cover changed before publication, and I got some highly-anticipated ARCs, including LEGENDARY by Stephanie Garber, TO TWINKLE WITH LOVE by Sandhya Menon, and CITY OF BASTARDS by Andrew Shvarts!
Here's my haul for February:
MUSIC 🎶
I haven't really listened to anything new recently, but the Broadway Cast Recording for Once on this Island just came out, which I got to see last year. It was incredible and I've been looking forward to picking it up. The Band's Visit also came out. I haven't seen it yet, but it's gotten a lot of buzz and people are saying it may win the Tony for Best Musical this year, so I do want to check it out!
Ohh, and I WAS re-watching Galavant last week, and I've been watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. So all of that music, too!
MOVIES AND TV
Black Panther was INCREDIBLE. First theater movie of the year for me!!! I've been looking forward to it forever because the trailers looked so awesome. Then I started hearing everyone say how good it was (I couldn't go the first week, unfortunately!), and you know what? One of my all-time FAVORITE Marvel movies. So, SO good!!! I already pre-ordered the blu-ray from Best Buy because they have an exclusive steelbook and it is GORGEOUS.
Once Upon a Time is back! We just watched the first new episode since last year, and it's bittersweet since these are the final episodes until the series finale. We're still watching The Gifted, too. We watched a couple of episodes of Shannara, too, and I'm currently watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
I've also been watching a lot of the Olympics!!! The skating is always my favorite winter sport, but I've been watching quite a bit. And those beautiful ceremonies...!!! A lot of surprises this year, don't you think?
