July Month in Review / August Preview

This past month marked the third annual Splash into Summer event! This year, I co-hosted with Angel from Mermaid Vision Books, and we had so much fun! I'm already looking forward to next year. I'll spotlight random splashy books on upcoming Thursdays during my A Twist in the Tail feature...some of which were read for Splash but not turned around in time!

Right now, I'm putting together a super-secret month-long event for September. If it comes together the way I hope, I'll be announcing it soon! *fingers crossed* Look forward to it!

    1. I hope you enjoy them! My friend and I are both about to start work on our fantasy ideas and will be writing buddies. I'm going to focus on writing a lot this fall, so look forward to posts! I'll review some books, too!

    1. Yes, you DO. They are so so so so so so GOOD. Did I mention that yet? SO GOOD. I super-loved it after re-reading the first book and reading the second. I didn't super-love Rae Carson the first time I read TGOF&T, though I still really liked it.

Also, I personally *loved* THE PLEDGE. It isn't for everyone, though. People either love or hate the book. There's little in-between. Most of what I hear when they don't like it is due to the fact that they don't like fantasy mixed in with dystopian. It's too weird for them. I personally *love* books with kings and queens and knights and all that jazzy stuff, and I also love dystopian, so I liked the mix!

I didn't have time to read THE ESSENCE when it dropped in January. I had time this summer and decided to wait half a year until the final book came out at this point...but now I don't have to wait!!! This week, here I come!!!
