Week in Review & IMM: The Giveaway Edition

IN MY MAILBOX: 02.05.12

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren because:

"I get books to read and then ultimately share my thoughts about with my readers. As much as I want to, I can’t possibly read every book I receive. Yet, I still wanted a way to feature those books on the blog, even though it might not be in the form of a review. Problem solved! Every week I'd share the books I received that week... ones I'd bought, or gotten at the library, and ones that I'd receive to review on the blog. That way I could mention titles that might not otherwise get some face-time on The Story Siren..."

I find the same thing happening at A Backwards Story. I'm so backed up on reviews atm... That's why I like these videos!

    1. You DO!! My favorites are MY SISTER'S KEEPER and KEEPING FAITH. Actually, they're my two favorite books by ANYBODY. Rounding out my favorite Jodi books are PERFECT MATCH and SALEM FALLS. But she has so many good books. THE PACT, PLAIN TRUTH, SECOND GLANCE, NINETEEN MINUTES.......

I still have to read this year's book, LONE WOLF.

I think you'll read her teen novel first, yes? ^.~ Fairy tales + Fantasy = FTW!!!

  3. That IS a lot of giveaways!

Also? This is the second IMM I've seen with Sailor Moon vol. 4. I think I may need to purchase the Sailor Moon manga because I LOVED that show and the manga when I was a kid (even dressed as a Sailor Scout for a library play way way back). Sigh.

    Awesome IMM!

    1. You should totally purchase it! The manga is actually a LOT more romantic than the anime could ever hope to be (and our favorite couple totally has off-the-page sex and he's not creepy-older than her, lol!)

It's a sign if you've seen two! You must buy it! :)

  4. I'd never heard of Between the Lines before but you say it's a fairy tale and fantasy and I'm all in. I definitely want a piece of that.

AND SAILOR MOON. *starts to sing* Fighting evil by moonlight... XD I own all the movies and the tv series up to date in the Americanized version but I never would've thought to pick up the manga. I think I AM going to do that.

YAY FOR ELEMENTAL. I received a copy as well! :D

    Have an amazing reading week!

    1. I know, right? Fairy tale fantasy. I don't need anything else in a synopsis!!!

Ahhh, that song is going to be in my head now! *tsks you*

I totally own all the DVD sets too (except Stars, of course!) I actually prefer the manga to the anime. It's much more romantic (and Usagi/Serena and Mamoru/Darien totally do it) and their age difference isn't so creepy different. Plus, he's not a jerk like, "What, I have a gf??" The manga makes me swoon!

      Yay for us and ELEMENTAL!!

  6. A friend of mine read Elemental and said it was great! :O Oh Sailor Moon! I only know the German and Japanese tracks, so unlike A Knight I can't impress anyone with my nerdy knowledge. *sniff* Damn! There it was. My chance! Argh! XD

Hope you enjoy all of your reads!! :)

    1. Thanks!! I bought the green just for this week! My BN was one of 20-some stores in the country doing a Hunger Games event, and IW anted to have "Capitol Nails" for the event, so I bought the acid green, borrowed the hot pink from my sister, and dug out my orange! I actually just finished taking it off and have to figure out what I'm doing next! :)

    1. I will! I'm excited about it! I wasn't sure at first and leaning toward not going honestly, b/c I'm really squeamish, but I'm going with a group and..um...2 or 3 of them saw it already. My one friend said she'd be my blindfold during bad parts! LOL!!

Oh, you ordered the ID? Even cooler. It looks fun!

I know, right? I haven't read/watched SM (or any anime/manga) in years. I love this manga reboot!

    1. Doesn't it? I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up because I ALWAYS do this with a Jodi book and it cannot POSSIBLY live up to the expectations in my head, buuuuuuuut I'm hoping for this to be a top favorite Jodi book of mine! I can't wait to dive in this week or next for Fairy Tale Fortnight!

LOSS is absolutely my favorite in the quartet so far. I can't wait to hear your thoughts hwne you read it!

Aren't the stitched copies fabulous? I've been wanting them for so long! I almost did EMMA, too, but I have a beautiful gold leather-bound complete Austen, so... *shrug*

I'm still SO EXCITED about STARLIGHTER being in your house! It makes me want to re-read the first book right now so I can read #2 and #3 finally, lol!
