MY REVIEW
2) THE DARKLING
From Leigh Bardugo's Grisha Trilogy
I love a good villain backstory. We learn so much about the Darkling throughout the Grisha Trilogy. There is still so much to say, though, don't you think? I want to know his backstory! It could be a novella or a novel, I don't care. I just want a litttttttttttle more!
My Reviews: SHADOW AND BONE, SIEGE AND STORM, THE TAILOR
3) RASHMI
From ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins
I hope Stephanie Perkins returns to this world one day. She could do it through Rashmi. Josh gets a second chance, so why not Rashmi? Great way to somehow get a cameo in there! Oh, and and and! The cameo could DEFINITELY happen at a certain big event hinted at in Isla! And there could be an awkward (but also happy?) encounter with her ex, and, and, and.......
My Reviews: ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS, LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR,
ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER
4) KIMMI or BRENT
From NOT IN THE SCRIPT by Amy Finnegan
I'm not ready to say goodbye to Emma and Jake yet! Kimmi is definitely misunderstood by the press, and it would be fun to watch her since she's a first-time actress. She's making mistakes, but she must still have so much excitement in ways other actors are jaded. Brent, well, he canbe redeemed. Maybe. His would need to be a story of redemption. I just want more from this world and the set!
My Review
5) IKO
From Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles Series
Everyone who has read Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles has begged for more Iko! At the very least, a short story? After all, Meyer has put out several novellas set in this world. One more, please???
My Reviews: CINDER, SCARLET, CRESS, GLITCHES, THE QUEEN'S ARMY, THE LITTLE ANDROID
6) Um...SPOILERY CHARACTERS
From THE TWICE LOST by Sarah Porter
I can't talk about these characters without spoiling some wonderful secrets from the final book in Sarah Porter's Lost Voices Trilogy, BUT there are characters--and if you've read this, you know who I mean--who bring new mythology to the world and explain so much. I want a book that exists as a prologue to this series featuring these new characters! Please, please, please?
My Review: LOST VOICES, WAKING STORMS, THE TWICE LOST
Top Five Secondary Characters Who Got Their OWN Book
1) BITTERBLUE
From Kristin Cashore's GRACELING
It was rumored for years that Kristin Cashore was working on BITTERBLUE, which would take place after GRACELING and feature Katsa and Po as secondary characters. I was so excited to read this the moment I got my mitts on it! A well-deserved character coming into her own!
I...never reviewed this. Oops?
2) SETH
From Jennifer L. Armentrout's Covenant Series
In the Covenant Series, there are two Apollyons in a world where there should be one. Seth got shafted. (Well, no, because then we wouldn't have Alex. And Seth was a totally love-to-hate-him guy. But...from his perspective, he did get shafted, being the First and all...) I'm really excited to see Seth redeem himself in his own series in 2015!
My Review: HALF-BLOOD, PURE, DEITY, ELIXIR, APOLLYON
3) FOUR
From Veronica Roth's Divergent Trilogy
Ahhhhh, throughout the Divergent series, I was always a huge fan of Four. I was so excited when Veronica Roth released a free four short story online when her INSURGENT pre-order goal was reached. I was even MORE excited when I heard we'd get a bit of his POV in ALLEGIANT. And THEN I heard that there would be a collection of novellas centered around him before Tris met him. So glad he got his own story!!!
My Review: INSURGENT (How did I NEVER review DIVERGENT? IDK!)
4) Aiden
From Jennifer L. Armentrout's Covenant Series
It kind of feels like cheating to have the same author--AND the same series--listed twice, but the list would feel incomplete without including Aiden! Especially because I love Aiden so much more than Seth. Like Alex, I always wanted to crawl into his head and see what he was thinking. Why are guy brains so frustrating?? I always loved seeing little scenes online from his POV that Jennifer L. Armentrout treated us to. Having a whole novella from his POV was the most delicious surprise, AND it's a solid part of the series, not just an afterthought! Love, love, love!
My Review: HALF-BLOOD, PURE, DEITY, ELIXIR, APOLLYON
5) All the characters from books by authors such as Katie McGarry and Miranda Kenneally!
It's really cool when authors build an entire WORLD. All of the books standalone, but sometimes, various characters come back in new and unexpected ways. The best friend is now a main character, or that pesky younger brother, or that blink-and-you-miss-him classmate. Sometimes, these books go on to show adventures featuring the children of characters that were previously featured in a novel. Katie McGarry and Miranda Kenneally are two queen writers in today's YA Contemporary World when it comes to books with interlocking characters! I like reading these just to catch up with everyone. In books like these, characters feel like long-lost friends, like people you know in real life and have sorely missed!
My Review (Katie's Books): PUSHING THE LIMITS, CRASH INTO YOU, TAKE ME ON, CROSSING THE LINE
My Review (Miranda's Books): CATCHING JORDAN, STEALING PARKER, THINGS I CAN'T FORGET, RACING SAVANNAH, BREATHE, ANNIE, BREATHE
Iko almost made my list. How did an android get such a personality? A novella about her would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!! Especially to Aiden lol I'd pick Strumhond/Nikolai over Darkling though ;) ;)
