Happy New Year 2014!!!!
Welcome to a brand-new year!

  Celebrate by feeding your e-reader!

I've rounded up some GREAT ebook deals (some of which are today, 1/1/14 only!)
for you to enjoy!

While these are all nook deals, most of these offers are also on Kindle!

There are SO MANY OTHER great books on sale, too!
It took me long enough to put this list together, so here are the ones that caught my eye!

(I have read/borrowed/owned/had an ARC of...39 out of 44 of these titles!
I have READ...24 of these titles!!!)

Today alone, Sourcebooks is listing seven YA contemporaries,
and they'll be offering even MORE cheap reads over the next few days as part of their
12 Days AFTER Christmas Promo!
Between buying up all the Susanna Kearsley novels the other day and today's YA deals,
they're stealing my money, I tell you!
Let them steal yours, too, haha! ^.~

Keep reading to see
29 deals for $1.99
and
15 deals for $2.99!

Wow...that's 44 titles that want your money!

Tell me what you're going to choose!
 I probably spent close to $20 on e-books this week!  ^^;;;

$1.99:

STEELHEART by Brandon Sanderson is on sale TODAY ONLY! It is the nook/Kindle YA deal of the day, so SNAP IT UP!

You all know how much I love the Incarnate/Newsoul trilogy by Jodi Meadows. Since, y'know, I'm co-hosting a Read-A-Thon with Alexa Loves Books! If you're on the fence, buy INCARNATE by Jodi Meadows for only $1.99 and join us for the book one Read-A-Thon on January 12th! Please?
(My Review!)

ONCE UPON A CURSE is a great anthology featuring authors such as Peter S. Beagle, Patricia Wrede, and more! If you're a fan of fairy tales, snatch up these short stories now!

What really happened to Anastasia Romanov? Find out in Joy Preble's Dreaming Anastasia trilogy! HAUNTED and DREAMING ANASTASIA by Joy Preble are both $1.99!

An unexpected favorite of mine is UNEARTHLY by Cynthia Hand. It's the only angel book I've enjoyed to date. Every other angel series has been meh, but I'm willing to give them a try now because I want to recapture that UNEARTHLY magic!
(My Review!)

Speaking of angels...have you fallen into Jessica Shirvington's Violet Eden series yet? The first three books, EMBRACE, ENTICE, and EMBLAZE are cheap, cheap, cheap! I believe this was picked up to become a TV series soon, too.
(My reviews of EMBRACE and ENTICE!)

If you love fantasy and have never read Neil Gaiman, you're missing out! Neil Gaiman's STARDUST was also turned into a movie...and can I admit how much I honestly enjoy that movie, cheese and all? But as with all things, the original source is always better!

I have heard SO MANY great things about THE MADMAN'S DAUGHTER by Megan Shepherd that I was really excited to see it offered for so cheap! Blind buy for me...how about you?? All I know about it is that it's a Gothic thriller inspired by H. G. Wells's classic THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU.

Despite being listed as MG, DJ McHale's Pendragon series, which begins with THE MERCHANT OF DEATH, is absolutely for older readers. It has a lot of death, etc, and when I read the first book, I was surprised at how mature it was! It's a great sci-fi adventure, though, and there aren't enough of them for the younger set!

Did you love Dreamworks' movie Rise of the Guardians? Did you know it's based on a great picture book/chapter book series from author William Joyce? NICHOLAS ST. NORTH AND THE BATTLE OF THE NIGHTMARE KING is a great way to begin exploring this franchise!

This year, Nancy Farmer's THE LORD OF OPIUM, sequel to National Book Award and Newbery and Printz Honors title HOUSE OF THE SCORPION came out to long overdue shouting...and it's on sale for a limited-time only! I have both of these to read...I need to get on it!

Bestselling YA author Scott Westerfeld has two first-in-a-series titles on sale, THE UGLIES and LEVIATHAN! Whether you're into steampunk or dystopian, you'll find something to enjoy here!

Do you like fairy tales? How about a post-dystopian, sci-fi/futuristic (Think the way Beth Revis' best-selling ACROSS THE UNIVERSE opens) Sleeping Beauty? Sound good? Then you want to check out Anna Sheehan's A LONG, LONG SLEEP!
(My review!)

What would an in-depth list of mine be without mention of a mermaid adventure? Zoraida Córdova's acclaimed debut novel THE VICIOUS DEEP is a steal of a deal right now!
(My review! Character Nieve's interview!)

I'm so excited! Melina Marchetta's high fantasy sequel FROI OF THE EXILES is on sale! A couple of weeks ago, I snagged FINNIKIN OF THE ROCK for only $1.99. Today I can have the sequel for the same price?? ALL RIGHT! I cannot tell you how many times I've had to borrow these books from the library and return them unread, with no free time. I WANT THESE!!!!
With a title like THE SUMMER OF SKINNY DIPPING, you'd think Amanda Howells' summery, breezy contemporary is a throw-away. However, I have heard so many absolutely amazing things about this series, and Howells has been compared to Sarah Dessen with this one, so...!
THE LIAR SOCIETY and sequel THE LIES THAT BIND by sisters Laura and Lisa Roecker have gotten some great reviews. Private school mysteries with covers just as awesome as Ally Carter's Gallagaher Girls series? Who doesn't want to sign up for more!?

Want some gothic ambiance? Check out Leanna Renee Hieber's DARKER STILL and sequel  THE TWISTED TRAGEDY OF MISS NATALIE STEWART. An homage to Oscar Wilde's THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY!
Are you a fan of YA contemporary with tough issues? Have you read Janet Gurtler yet? With every new novel she writes, she cements herself more solidly as a contemporary writer to watch! Today, IF I TELL, I'M NOT HER, WHO I KISSED, and HOW I LOST YOU are all only $1.99!! HOW I LOST YOU is today only via the special 12 Days After Christmas Sourcebooks Promo! I'm not sure about the others! HOW I LOST YOU is also my favorite of the four if you can only choose one. I read it and had to go read all her other books!
Miranda Kenneally is another rising star in YA contemporary fiction. Today only, snag THINGS I CAN'T FORGET for only $1.99!

$2.99:

DEFY by Sara B. Larson isn't even out for another week, but you can pre-order the fantasy novel everyone is buzzing about now at a great, great price! So far, this seems to be nook-exclusive. I don't know if it's a one-day sale or not! Snatch it up now! I did! ^_^ (I know I won't have time to get to my ARC before it expires, haha!)

LEGEND by Marie Lu has won all sorts of awards. If you liked The Hunger Games and Divergent, you'll like the Legend trilogy, too! The final book just came out (And I got it for Christmas, hah!) (...But I guess I never reviewed the series? Oops! I'll rectify that in 2014 as I re-read/read!)

THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL by Soman Chainani is one of my 2013 favorites (List coming Friday! I love, love, love it. If you love fairy tale novels and good MG adventures with great messages that defy tradition, you'll love this, too!
(My review! Author interview!)

Another MG fairy tale! E.D. Baker's THE WIDE-AWAKE PRINCESS is super-duper cute. I adore it! It's about the sister of Sleeping Beauty, and how she is--or in this case, isn't--affected by the "heroine's" curse! Love it!
(My review!)

I adored high fantasy debut SHADOW AND BONE by Leigh Bardugo. Adored. I thought I would hate it and never wanted to read it. AND I LOVED IT. I hope you will, too!
(My Review!)

Craving sci-fi? Amy Kathleen Ryan's GLOW and its sequel SPARK have gotten a lot of attention and acclaim. I have GLOW around here somewhere waiting to be read...Should I blind-buy SPARK for $2.99??

AFTER THE GOLDEN AGE by Carrie Vaughn deals with superheroes. And, uh, it's by Carrie Vaughn. I NEEDED this when I first heard about it. I bought it the day I found it on the shelf a week before it came out in hardcover. I...still need to make time to read it. *shame* But I still covet it!!!

Another great dystopian that becomes sci-fi is CREWEL by Gennifer Albin. It's quite unlike anything I've read up until now, and I'm really looking forward to finally having an opportunity to crack into my copy of ALTERED (Christmas present to myself!) in 2014!
(My review!)

I love fairy tales. I love Jessica Day George. I love when Jessica Day George DOES fairy tales. PRINCESS OF THE MIDNIGHT BALL is the first in a series of three dealing with the sisters from The Twelve Dancing Princesses as they get mixed up in adventures of their own making!
(My Review!)

YA contemporary heavyweight Simone Elkeles launched a new series in 2013. The first book, WILD CARDS, is now on sale! If you liked Miranda Kenneally's ground-breaking CATCHING JORDAN about a female football player, you'll love this, too!
(My review! My author interview!)

JONATHAN STRANGE AND MR NORRELL by Susanna Clarke is an award-winning novel that isn't to be missed if you're looking for a more adult version of what the Harry Potter world could have become in the future! Check out this critically-acclaimed bestseller now!

Been reading Lauren Oliver's bestselling dystopian Delirium Trilogy but didn't want to buy the final book in hardcover? Buy REQUIEM on sale now!

I've been dying to read UNDER THE NEVER SKY by Veronica Rossi, but have been patiently awaiting the day when all three books are out to read them together! Who wants to read this dystopian trilogy with me in 2014!?

THE GIRL WHO CIRCUMNAVIGATED FAIRYLAND IN A SHIP OF HER OWN MAKING by Catherynne M. Valente is a whimsical fantasy with breath-taking quotes that will sweep away your imagination! I read this as Valente posted it online as a serial, and still have to go back and catch up on the print edition!

What great deals have you indulged in recently?

...which of these books will you snag?
I'm curious!

  1. I'm on the fence about buying Incarnate or just waiting for it to come in at my library.

    1. Let me know what you decide! I would splurge and buy it, but I love it! I do know a few people who have had trouble getting into it until about 100 pgs into the book when they reach town, in part because the main character is weak in the beginning...but she grows so much! :)

  2. I've wanted to read Stardust for too long! Thanks for putting these together.

  3. I already snagged Unearthly and The Madman's Daughter. Both were blind buys. I'll totally read the Under the Never Sky trilogy with you this year!

    1. Okay!!! We're reading it together!! We must plan a time, okay? And Madman's Daughter, too, what do you say????

UNEARTHLY is so worth a blind-buy. It made me love angels....even though I despise or tolerate most angel books! OMG. I even wanted to know more about the MC's mother and brother and best friend, not just love interests/etc!!!

  4. Mmm.... I love that first set! It appeals to me the most (not that I don't want ALL the books, but the first set is good. :D

  5. I also read a great deal of the books on your list-- including Crewel and (mentioned) Altered, The Girl Who Cicumnavigated Fairyland (all three in the series) The School of Good and Evil... etc. I love your list and I can recommend more than half of them as totally awesome. ^_^

    1. I bought two books out of that set, STEELHEART and MADMAN'S DAUGHTER. If you didn't buy INCARNATE, um, YOU MUST. There are DRAGONS! I bought Joy Preble in a previous nook sale, lol, and also the anthology. And I own STARDUST and UNEARTHLY in print, so....

Ahhh, yay! This is why you and I get along so well, you know!! We love the same stuff! You're ahead of me on some stuff, it seems! LOL! I've only gotten to CREWEL and CIRCUMNAVIGATED (from her LJ serial days!).

I counted, and I've read 24 of them! haha

    2. LOL-- it's good to read so many but some of these I must absolutely try now, including the Wide Awake Princess and Shadow and Bone. I only have a Kindle on my phone--not an actual Kindle-Kindle, but I can still read it. Maybe one day I'll break down and get a real one.

    3. Do you remember when you told me to read GRACELING way back when it was still newish and in hardcover? And I said the summary held NO APPEAL to me and you forced me to read it and I LOVED IT SO HARD? Well....that happened to me with SHADOW AND BONE, too. And you need to read it. OMG do you!!!

Or get a nook and we can be nook friends? LOL! (nook app, hey!)

WIDE AWAKE PRINCESS is so stinking super cute! Loved it. 2nd one was meh....no sequel/companion was needed. But first one? OMG SO CUTE
