BuzzFeed posted a hilarious article this week that coincides perfectly with Fairy Tale Fortnight.

Can you think of 12 Questions Disney Forgot To Answer About Beauty And The Beast?

BuzzFeed can!

Check out the entire article here!

It's absolutely HILARIOUS.
I will warn younger readers that there's some language in this article!

Some of these are so TRUE, too...and I never thought about them before.

Here's one example...but go to the article for more!

Think about it. The plot says they've been cursed for 10 years. And the ticking time bomb of a rose will only bloom until Prince Adam turns 21. So he was only a preteen when the "good fairy" came knocking on his door in the middle of the night disguised as the creepiest old witch ever then cursed him for life for obeying the rules of stranger danger and telling her to get lost. The good fairy is the true villain here.

Um, wow, YEAH.  I never thought about how old he was when he was cursed.  And somehow, I never realized his name was Adam until recently, either. Go figure.  And therin lies a loophole that BuzzFeed points out later in the article, because if the prince was 11, why is there this painting where he looks like an adult?

Thoughts?

And while not related, if you're a big Disney fan and missed this week's hilarious guest post with author Jocelyn Koehler on Why Princess Jasmine would win in a battle royale against the other princesses, check it out now!  You won't regret it.

  1. You know, Beauty and the beast is my favorite fairytale and I'm always trying to look beyond the flaws. Sometimes, thinking too long and hard about something takes away all the fun for me :) I can totally see that this is a mistake, but you know, I don't care. Perhaps the painter felt artistic that day :p

  2. Hey, I love Beauty and the Beast too, but I had to laugh! That was funny. Some of my favorite movies have huge plot holes, it's the Magic of Hollywood baby! I'm cool with it. Since it's made for 6-9 yr olds or maybe younger, they're probably not worried about the plot holes. I love it that someone looked that closely at the movie. Very funny!

  5. I think he was age 20 when he was cursed, and then once he was cursed, he stopped aging because of the curse. Fast forward ten years. When Belle arrived, it started the aging process where it left off.
