*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

IMAGINARY GIRLS by Nova Ren Suma

"I watched her let the other balloons go. Watched her unwind their tails to leave them untethered. Watched her step away. Watched her watch each red ribbon take its leave and rise up out of reach even from her. Soon they were all gone. I looked up into the sky, and her balloons were everywhere, it seemed, teh air marred with bloody streaks and littered with demands, and nothing and no one could stop them from coming."

(~pg. 148 [according to Nook e-ARC, courtesy of Dutton Juvenile/Penguin via netGalley]; changes may be made before book launches in print on June 14, 2011.)

I know Tuesday is almost over at this point, but I had to share that line with you. It shows how Nova Ren Suma is able to tinge a scene with multiple meanings and add a tinge of darkness where there would otherwise be none. The book is full of such lines! Plus, okay, I knew you would all just want to stare at the gorgeous cover again, yes? Yes! And oh, having that model in the water like that was a stroke of genius, since it plays such an integral role in the novel...

  2. I haven't got to this part yet, I'm nearly 3/4 through the book. I actually like it and the mystery of it all.
