Can't Wait For...Yesterday's New Releases and Some of Next Week's Titles! Please order now from your local indie or BN to help keep them in business! :)

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Hi Bookworms!

Okay, I'm once again going to do something different for Waiting on Wednesday.

Normally, I like to pick a book with a recently revealed cover and talk about how hyped I am.

(I mean, if you want a post like that, check out tomorrow's fangirling over a recent cover reveal for a Twist in the Tail Thursday!)

But the economy is hurting right now, and if you have the money to support still-open or delivering indie bookstores and Barnes and Nobles, it will help keep them in business.

Right now, Amazon doesn't need your money the way our indies and BNs do.

Yes, so do B&Ns! They've been in a lot of financial trouble and Amazon has significantly hurt them as well. In my area, we have two BNs. We only got our first indie last year. I have been shopping there for years and need them to stay healthy, too, and a lot of other readers are in the same boat!

If you want to still have a bookstore when this is over, call your local, or a friend's local if your area is okay (or closed!) because they can still ship to you if you pay over the phone!

There are a lot of books coming out the next few Tuesdays that I desperately want. I figured I will feature them here, and if they sound good to you, maybe you can order a few, support a shop, and have new books next week?

I'll change my WoW to this format for the next period of time, what do you think?

I did this last week as well, if you want to look at yesterday's new releases in more detail than you'll see in the below picture!

Here's a photo from my Instagram yesterday with this week's new releases I'm most excited for, and a little bit about why! There were only three on my radar, so the week feels managable for once!

Is anyone else measuring their days by when it is Tuesday again? Even before this, I measured in Tuesdays when trying to figure out the date, because #NewReleaseTuesday is ALWAYS on my radar! Is that weird, or normal for book nerds everywhere? 🤔 Today, I'm really excited for the first book in @jesscluess' new YA fantasy series HOUSE OF DRAGONS (I mean,, "Five royal houses will hear the call to compete in the Trial for the dragon throne. A liar, a soldier, a servant, a thief, and a murderer will answer it. Who will win?" I am intrigued already!), YA rom-com BY THE BOOK by @amandajsellet (That bookish COVER!!! And a book about BOOKS!? Yes, please!), and adult thriller CATHERINE HOUSE by Elisabeth Thomas @thissielomas (I am HERE for dark, twisted mysteries -- and this one has been called, "A gothic-infused debut of literary suspense.") 📚 #bookstagram #instabooks #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookshimmy #bookaholic #bookcollector #bookworm #booknerd #booklover #bibliophile #amreading #currentlyreading #booklife #contemporaryfiction #bookstack #shelfie #bookshelfie #authorsofinstagram #autographedbook #mysterynovel #bookreviewer #forreview #livrestagram #tbr #tbrpile #somanybookssolittletime #NewRelease #romcom

For next week, there is FOR ONCE another manageable list of books I want to read! BONUS: I've already read two of them. I can easily read three books in a week, right?

1. BEACH READ by Emily Henry
This book is SO CUTE. I've already read it and have been recommending it all over social media for months, so you've probably already heard me chatter on about this one. It's a rom-com, and it's hate-to-love, so it already checks all the buttons, BUT ALSO, it is a book about authors. As a writer, seeing other writers struggle with writer's block and then challenge one another to write is just *chef kiss* If you are a writer, you need this book! If you are a rom-com fan, you need this book. If you love hate-to-love more than anything, you need this book. So really, you just need this one, amiright?

2. TALK NERDY TO ME by Tiffany Schmidt
I'm excited to pick this up! Tiffany is a local author whom I've met several times over the years, and I just adore her. I really enjoyed the first two books in the Bookish Boyfriends series, A DATE WITH DARCY and THE BOY NEXT STORY. They are all stand-alone companions: The first two feature sisters, and this one is from the best friend's perspective. Also, there is this AMAZING teacher who somehow can give someone exactly the book they need that mirrors their own life, and in this case, the books provided are Frankenstein and Anne of Green Gables!

3. A TASTE OF SAGE by Yaffa S. Santos
I was lucky enough to read this early as well when I was on a hate-to-love rom-com tear earlier this year and couldn't get enough. I loved the concept of this, with two chefs and man, when you read this one, you will want to eat ALL THE FOOD!

4. BREATH LIKE WATER by Anna Jarzab
I read Anna Jarzab's sci-fi debut TANDEM and its sequel TETHER. When I stumbled upon a new book by her at a conference earlier this year, and saw that it was going to be contemporary, I was intrigued. Plus, it's a book starring swimmers, and I ALWAYS love books about swimmers. Especially when there is a struggle after your budding future starts to look further away due to athletic injury, etc, and it becomes a comeback story. I'm very intrigued to dive into this one!

5. THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES by Suzanne Collins
This one really doesn't need any introduction, does it? I think this is why there is no fantasy competing with it this week for attention, and barely even any YA titles releasing!

Okay, let's be honest: Do I want to read a book from Snow's POV? I don't know. I really don't. And this is coming from ME, the gal who loves a good villain origin story. But, IDK, he's just....*squick* I still want to try it out, however, and thank goodness for the library because I have a digital copy that I can download on Tuesday and start right away without waiting!

I hope you'll consider buying a couple of these books this week or next if you can afford it to help support your local indies and BNs!
