Can't Wait For...Yesterday's *12* New Releases and Some of Next Week's Titles! Please order now from your local indie or BN to help keep them in business! :)

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Hi Bookworms!

Okay, I'm once again going to do something different for Waiting on Wednesday.

Normally, I like to pick a book with a recently revealed cover and talk about how hyped I am.

(I mean, if you want a post like that, check out tomorrow's fangirling over a recent cover reveal for a Twist in the Tail Thursday!)

But the economy is hurting right now, and if you have the money to support still-open or delivering indie bookstores and Barnes and Nobles, it will help keep them in business.

Right now, Amazon doesn't need your money the way our indies and BNs do.

Yes, so do B&Ns! They've been in a lot of financial trouble and Amazon has significantly hurt them as well. In my area, we have two BNs. We only got our first indie last year. I have been shopping there for years and need them to stay healthy, too, and a lot of other readers are in the same boat!

If you want to still have a bookstore when this is over, call your local, or a friend's local if your area is okay (or closed!) because they can still ship to you if you pay over the phone!

There are a lot of books coming out the next few Tuesdays that I desperately want. I figured I will feature them here, and if they sound good to you, maybe you can order a few, support a shop, and have new books next week?

I'll change my WoW to this format for the next period of time, what do you think?

I did this last week as well, if you want to look at yesterday's new releases in more detail than you'll see in the below picture!

Here's a photo from my Instagram yesterday with this week's new releases I'm most excited for, and a little bit about why! I don't own physical copies of a couple of this week's releases, but they're mentioned, at least, and pictured in last week's post...)

ⓐⓝⓓ ⓣⓗⓔⓝ...ⓘⓣ ⓦⓐⓢ ⓞⓝⓒⓔ ⓐⓖⓐⓘⓝ... #NewReleaseTuesday! I miss going into the bookstore and petting all the new pretties, don't you? At least we can still order online from indies and BN! Especially on a big week like this week! There are so many books I couldn't even picture despite this huge #bookstack! I was very fortunate to go to the ALA Midwinter conference this past January and get ARCs of several spring titles so I can still do small posts on release day for now! Today, I'm excited about the release of so many books! ղօԵ ԹíϲԵմɾҽժ: I'm featuring SAL AND GABI BREAK THE UNIVERSE by Carlos Hernandez, because I don't yet have today's release of the sequel SAL AND GABI FIX THE UNIVERSE, which is full of Cuban mythology and part of the Rick Riordan Presents line! I also have my UK edition of PAGES AND CO: TILLY AND THE LOST FAIRYTALES by Anna James, which I imported last year from Waterstones, but the US edition launches today! ԹíϲԵմɾҽժ: There's powerful contemporary FELIX EVER AFTER by local author @kacen.callender, whom I adore so much, adult rom-com OF LITERATURE AND LATTES by Katherine Reay (I got to meet her and get this copy signed at ALAMW!), YA romance FOUR DAYS OF YOU AND ME by Miranda Kenneally, the awesome feminist THE LIFE {AND MEDIEVAL TIMES} OF KIT SWEETLY by Jamie Pacton (and this picture wouldn't be complete without Sir Duckie!) MG mythology-infused MAYA AND THE RISING DARK by Rena Barron, the highly anticipated new fantasy romance from Kiera Cads THE BETROTHED, high-sea adventure THE MERMAID, THE WITCH, AND THE SEA by Maggie Tokuda-Hall, and gripping fantasy FORGED IN FIRE AND STARS by Andrea Robertson. I also added DANGEROUS REMEDY by Kat Dunn, which was supposed to come out in the UK today, but had its date pushed due to the pandemic. #bookstagram #instabooks #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookreviewer #forreview #bookshimmy #bookaholic #bookshelfie #bibliophile #bookworm #booknerd #ireadya #livrestagram #bookcollector #shelfie #tbr #tbrpile #somanybookssolittletime #NewRelease

For next week, there is FOR ONCE a manageable list of books I want to read! I can easily read three books in a week, right?

1. HOUSE OF DRAGONS by Jessica Cluess
I very much enjoyed Jessica Cluess' debut trilogy Kingdom on Fire, which began with A SHADOW BRIGHT AN BURNING. Her new series also sounds amazing, plus it's multi-POV from many houses, and it's just the sort of action-packed fantasy I like!

2. BY THE BOOK by Amanda Sellet
This cover is SO CUTE and was the very first thing to catch my eye! I will always check out a book with BOOKS on the cover (or in the title!) because books about BOOKS are the very best! This sounds like it will be such an adorable, fun rom-com!

3. CATHERINE HOUSE by Elisabeth Thomas
A twisty thriller, yes, please! I stumbled upon this at the ALA Midwinter Conference back in January when the author was signing. They had me at "Twisty mystery full of unexpected surprises you won't guess" because we all know how obsessed I am with Stuart Turton's THE 7 1/2 DEATHS OF EVELYN HARDCASTLE, right!?

I hope you'll consider buying a couple of these books this week or next if you can afford it to help support your local indies and BNs!
