Hi Bookworms! It's been a hot second since we last did a cover reveal post, hasn't it? There have been SO MANY fantastic covers released recently for the upcoming Winter 2020 season, too. I usually feature them during Can't Wait Wednesday, but ever since the pandemic, I've been trying to spotlight new releases that you can buy now to help support indie bookstores and B&N.
But I also can't NOT talk about yesterday's cover reveal of one of my most-anticipated books of 2020, INSTANT KARMA by Marissa Meyer! This is Marissa's second stand-alone (unless she turns it into a series later, who knows!). It is her FIRST rom-com, AND it still has a twist of fantasy in it. It sounds so good and I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it!
From CINDER to HEARTLESS to RENEGADES, I have loved every book Marissa Meyer has published, and I am so excited to see this new release of hers and add it to my collection!
Are you ready to see the cover and a summary?
Are you, are you?
Here we go!
What do you think of the cover? I love the illustrated cover trend for romance, especially because I've never liked people on covers...but I'm okay with illustrated ones! And I love that neither of them has a cookie cutter look -- and is that really a bicycle built for two!? #need
I did a mock-up for today's Instagram post because I wanted to celebrate with a huge tower of all my Marissa Meyer books, but I don't know where my hardcovers CINDER or CRESS (or my CRESS ARC, actually) or FAIREST or GONE ROGUE are right this minute (I'm sure they're all together and I'll find them tomorrow....). This is the first book tower I've made since the injury, which is finally healing well, but it was starting to hurt and I couldn't go looking for wayward books, even though the stack may not have tilted so much if it had more hardcovers to balance it out. Mais c'est la vie, non?
Anyway

Title: INSTANT KARMA
Author: Marissa Meyer
Release Date: Nov. 3, 2020
SUMMARY:
Chronic overachiever Prudence Daniels is always quick to cast judgment on the lazy, rude, and arrogant residents of her coastal town. Her dreams of karmic justice are fulfilled when, after a night out with her friends, she wakes up with the sudden ability to cast instant karma on those around her. Pru giddily makes use of the power, punishing everyone from public vandals to karaoke hecklers, but there is one person on whom her powers consistently backfire: Quint Erickson, her slacker of a lab partner and all-around mortal enemy. Soon, Pru begins to uncover truths about Quint, her peers, and even herself that reveal how thin the line is between virtue and vanity, generosity and greed . . . love and hate.
