Top 20 Books on my Spring TBR!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
Every once in a while I participate in this one when I either
1) Like the theme, and/or 2) Have the time!

This week's topic:
Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR!

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is one of my FAVORITES. Every season, I LOVE picking out the top books we're excited to read coming up!!!!

I can't wait to see what you guys are excited to read for in case I've overlooked it, so make sure to share your links this week, okay!?

I narrowed it down to 15 each, but it was still really hard and I had to cut books I'm dying for off the list!

In order of publication
(Featuring releases from today, March 19th until June 21st, the official spring season! Technically. I know, I know, the 21st...)...

1) THE DEEPEST BLUE by Sarah Beth Durst
Out March 19, 2019

I LOVED the Queens of Renthia series and am SO beyond thrilled that Sarah Beth Durst is returning to the world with her latest novel. Does it have to be a stand-alone, though? *pouts*

2) SHERWOOD by Meagan Spooner
Out  March 19, 2019

I really adored Meagan Spooner's Beauty and the Beast retelling HUNTED. When I heard she was doing a new version of Robin Hood from Maid Marian's POV entitled SHERWOOD, I knew it had to be mine!

3) SKY WITHOUT STARS by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell

Because Les Mis. In Space! The end, because, seriously, what else do you need to know?

4) WICKED SAINTS by Emily A. Duncan
Out April 2, 2019

I'm going to have a LOT more about this book tomorrow, actually. I just got a beautiful hardcover in the mail and filmed a Design Vlog giving you guys a sneak peek! I was going to post it today, but this is seriously my favorite TTT theme of the year, so sorry/not sorry! This book is going to be so bad-ass, though: If you like authors such as Leigh Bardugo and V.E. Schwab, this will be right up your alley!

5) DESCENDANT OF THE CRANE by Joan He
Out April 9, 2019

This fantasy debut is inspired by Chinese culture, and that has me excited to begin with! Plus, that cover is SO gorgeous. I feel like I've been waiting forever to get my hands on this one!

6) ARU SHAH AND THE SONG OF DEATH by Roshani Chokshi
Out April 16, 2019

Last year, ARU SHAH AND THE END OF TIME was one of my top middle-grade novels of the year. And it was reminiscent of the Percy Jackson series in only the best ways and really endeared me to the Rick Riordan Presents line. I need to get my hands on this sequel!

7) THE TIGER AT MIDNIGHT by Swati Teerdhala
Out April 23, 2019

Assassins and political intrigue drenched in Hindu mythology with a gorgeous cover to boot? Yes, I'll have a second helping, please!

8) NOCTURNA by Maya Motayne
Out  May 7, 2019

I still don't know much about this book -- it's closer to release and I don't look at summaries when I might be reading a book soon. I hadn't heard much about this book, but now everyone seems to be talking about it! I also know someone reading it atm who is really enjoying it (She says it reminds her of V.E. Schwab's ADSOM series), and she has very similar tastes to mine, so I think I'll love it!

9) FINALE by Stephanie Garber
Out May 30, 2019

I think we're all putting this on our lists today! Definitely one of my top books of the year to read! I loved CARAVAL and LEGENDARY. I HAVE to know how this trilogy ends!!! I love it so much that I paid a crazy price to import a special edition box from Fairyloot. AND I bought the Owlcrate box, too. My first ever special boxes! I hope they'll be worth it. I want all the merch though, lol!

10) THE BRIDE TEST by Helen Hoang
Out May 7, 2019

One of my favorite books of 2018 was THE KISS QUOTIENT by Helen Hoang. I celebrated when I heard that she was writing a companion novel. It's absolutely a must read this year!

11) THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT SWEETIE by Sandhya Menon
Out May 14, 2019

Okay, spoiler alert: I've already read this. It's my favorite of the three books out so far by Menon. I cannot WAIT to share my thoughts with you this May! Also, once you've read the book? This cover is EVERYTHING!

12) WE HUNT THE FLAME by Hafsah Faizal
Out May 14, 2019

One of my most highly-anticipated books of 2019! I've known Hafsah since she was a blogger, and have bought from her shop before and met her briefly at BEA one year. I'm SO excited for her debut novel, and so pleased it's being hyped everywhere and that many readers are excited for this debut #ownvoices fantasy!

13) THE CANDLE AND THE FLAME by Nafiza Azad
Out  May 14, 2019

I only heard about this recently: That gorgeous cover caught my eye right away! It features djinn, takes place on the Silk Road, is diverse and sounds all-around amazing. I definitely want to check it out!

14) STEPSISTER by Jennifer Donnelly
Out May 14, 2019

Is this cover not the most striking thing ever? I love fairy tales. I love villain stories. Both in one book? I MUST HAVE THIS NOW!!!

15) WAR OF THE BASTARDS by Andrew Shvarts
Out June 4, 2019

Last year, ROYAL BASTARDS by Andrew Shvarts was a big surprise for me. I didn't expect to enjoy it so much, or for the book to end with favorite characters being ones who didn't initially impress me. I've been itching to get my hands on this sequel and find out what happens next, but haven't had time to dive in. So this spring, I want to re-read the first book, read the second, and then binge this finale!

Also? If you like SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo, you're really going to like this world as well! I didn't understand why the two were compared to one another when I read the summary, but after reading the book, I definitely agree (And if you've seen my review, you already know why!)

16) SORCERY OF THORNS by Margaret Rogerson
Out June 4, 2019

Is it just me or is this cover a little reminiscent of ACOWAR? This is the second book from the author of AN ENCHANTMENT OF RAVENS! Except instead of fae, we have sorcerers. And libraries. I love books about books!

Honorable Mentions
(Because these books came out this month, but just before spring officially began...!)

1) A CRYSTAL OF TIME by Soman Chainani

The fifth book is finally here! I'm so happy Soman Chainani returned to this series and is expanding it, because it's seriously one of my favorites!

2) SAL AND GABI BREAK THE UNIVERSE by Carlos Hernandez

already thought this sounded like an edge of my seat fantasy, but now that I know it is inspired by The Goose Girl? Well! You guys know I'm ALWAYS up for throwing a good fairytale into the mix!
