KISMET & KARMA

      Kismet & Karma – Cody

I finally got a chance to meet the infamous Genie after first period. She was waiting for Bryce outside the locker room. It didn’t take me very long to see what all the hype was about. Neither Eric nor Bryce did her justice when giving me a physical description. I decided it was time I switched from tall brunettes to petite blondes.

She was leaning against the wall, examining her fingernails as if she couldn’t care less about what was going on around her. After a brief exchange with my brother, she turned her scrutinizing stare on me. “Hmm, this must be Cody.” She sounded unimpressed. Guess I better fix that.

I turned on my sexy face—The Lady Killer. It was one part steamy smolder, one part pearly whites, and two parts unabashed confidence. In my smoothest voice, I said, “I see you’ve heard of me. And you would be?”

“Not here for you,” she quipped, turning her back to me. I felt my face flame. To quote Kennedy, “How rude!”

Bryce was barely containing his laughter. I didn’t get straight-up blown off like that very often. Even Nicole humored my flirting. Genie had just thrown down the gauntlet, big time.
