Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
Every once in a while I participate in this one when I either
1) Like the theme, and/or 2) Have the time!

This week's topic:
Top Ten Books on my Fall TBR!

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is one of my FAVORITES. Every season, I LOVE picking out the top books I'm excited to read coming up!!!!

I can't wait to see what you guys are excited to read for in case I overlooked it, so make sure to share your links this week, okay!?

In order of publication
(Featuring releases from September 21st until December 21st, the official autumn season!)...

1) SISTERS OF THE WINTER WOOD by Rena Rossner
Out September 25, 2018

I've already read this one and I can't wait to tell you more about it! I first heard about it at BEA and then I HAD to have it. If you like books such as UPROOTED by Naomi Novik and THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE by Katherine Arden, you're going to snap up this tale of two sisters who discover a devastating family secret lickety split!

2) THE RESTLESS GIRLS by Jessie Burton
Out September 27, 2018

One of my favorite tales is The 12 Dancing Princesses. I love that this is going to be a feminist retelling and have illustrations and be from the author of THE MINIATURIST!

3) GRIM LOVELIES by Megan Shepherd
Out October 2, 2018

I love how fairy tale esque this summary is! It's about a girl who USED to be an animal before she was enchanted. Do you ever wonder what becomes of creatures transformed into something they aren't meant to be? I was thinking about this recently rewatching Stardust, actually!

4) THE BLACK KHAN by Ausma Zehanat Khan
Out October 4, 2018

I don't remember much of this summary, tbh. I was captivated by the gorgeous UK edition cover on Instagram and imported the book, but haven't read it yet. I know it's based on Middle Eastern lore. I decided to wait until I had the second book in my hands and read them both together. I'm very excited to pick these up!

5) BLANCA & ROJA by Anna-Marie McLemore
Out October 9, 2018

Snow White and Rose Red meet Swan Lake? Okay, but YES. I've met Anna-Marie McLemore before, and she's so nice and sweet! I've also enjoyed other books by her. I'm hoping to get to this one this month for Magic, Myth, and Mischief. It's pouting from my nightstand!

6) CROWN OF THUNDER by Tochi Onyebuchi
Out October 16, 2018

The sequel to last year's BEASTS MADE OF NIGHT, full of Nigerian myths and lore! I actually bought the first book when it came out last year and never had time to wedge it in. I've been waiting until closer to when the second book released to just read them together. It's almost time! I've heard the greatest things about this series!

7) THE BRILLIANT DEATH by Amy Rose Capetta
Out October 30, 2018

This summary has a very fairy tale-esque feel to it. It centers around a mafia don's daughter who has the abilitiy to turn enemies into things such as mirrors and music boxes the way enchantresses often enchanted their victims. It sounds so good, and that cover!!!!?

8) KINGDOM OF THE BLAZING PHOENIX by Julie C. Dao
Out November 6, 2018

Last year, I ADORED Julie C. Dao's debut novel FOREST OF A THOUSAND LANTERNS. I have been so excited to get my hands on this sequel! Did you see my review of the first book last week during Magic, Myth and Mischief? Check it out because you get some cool presents if you pre-order this book!

9) EMPRESS OF ALL SEASONS by Emiko Jean
Out Nov. 6, 2018

I used to live in Japan, and any book seeped in the culture or country immediately captures my attention. A book featuring the lore of the yokai with an interesting fantasy world and plot? Yes, please!Out Nov. 6, 2018

10) FIRE AND HEIST by Sarah Beth Durst
Out December 4, 2018

I love Sarah Beth Durst and how she always blends fairy tales or mythology or lore into her novels. Her latest is about a girl who can shape shift into a dragon and, even better, revolves around fantasy heists!
