{Review+$25 Amazon GC or Paypal Cash Giveaway} DATING THE PRINCE by Alina Snow

O P E N I N G   H O O K:

KATIE O'CONNOR RUSHED TO PICK UP her orders. The cafe was packed, more so than usual, even if it was located in Beverly Hills. Probably another premiere. That's how stars were born, from one day to the next.
 DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

(Page 7, US ebook edition)

Katie O'Connor has always wanted to be an actress. She's having trouble making it in Hollywood, though. To pay the bills, she holds a briefcase on a gameshow--and nobody ever even chooses her case! She finally gets cast in a movie and is excited to finally begin the career she's always wanted when she literally bumps into Prince Alexander. Alex is looking to slip from sight for a while and thinks Katie can help him do it. The two go incognito and wind up in Katie's hometown of Texas--and fall in love along the way! But is Katie willing to give up her dreams for a future with Alex? And will Alex's family approve of the match?

DATING THE PRINCE by Alina Snow definitely has an audience and will appeal to a LOT of readers, especially with this past weekend's Royal Wedding frenzy. I mean, who doesn't want to marry a prince, right? It's the Fairy Tale To End All Fairy Tales! The novel is very light and breezy. It's definitely a wish fulfillment novel!

...But it wasn't really for *me*. I need more realism when I'm reading. I didn't like that Katie and Alex got engaged after only weeks--and they never even kissed until that moment! Katie had a dream of being an actor and got this amazing opportunity, but she never even thought about acting again after Alex proposed ; she was happy to jump right on a plane to England with him.

But you might love it, especially if you want something light. We all have different opinions and perspectives, you know? Sometimes, you just WANT that Fairy Tale To End All Fairy Tales. You don't need to worry about how it could actually work. This might be exactly what you're looking for!

You wouldn't tell he was a prince by the cover. It looks like any other contemporary cover.  If he was wearing a crown or suit or something, it would call out about his identity. Granted, he's incognito in the book, so it's fitting, but it won't jump out at certain readers.

SUMMARY:

Small-town girl, Katie O’Connor has always dreamed of seeing her name in lights. Check the box for fame, a movie deal, the perfect leading role that comes with a gorgeous leading man! Katie moved to Hollywood, elbows her way into auditions, lives on a shoestring budget—whatever is required to land a deal, she throws her heart into… until she’s involved in a royal kidnapping.

As the future king, Prince Alexander refuses to rule from an ivory tower. Duty-bound, he intends to relate to his future subjects, regardless of their walk of life. Before his coronation, he needs a foolproof plan to outrun his security team and go temporarily AWOL. While visiting L.A., all it takes is a sound stage collision and Alex is blindsided by a headstrong woman who is simply irresistible. So much so, he calls in a favor in order to secure her help … as his pretend girlfriend.

Their worlds are oceans apart, but their immediate attraction is impossible to put aside, especially their nonstop banter. Miffed at being wrangled into a situation that might blow up in her face, Katie comes up with her own plan. If The Prince is serious about walking the walk of the common folk, she’s only too happy to oblige as his pretend girlfriend. Through an ice storm, a road trip, kitchen duty, and a Texas pig race, Alex captures the hearts of the locals as well as Ms. O’Connor’s.

What starts out as a deal Katie can’t refuse becomes the acting role of a lifetime… letting Prince Alexander go without a fight.

A delightfully funny retelling of The Prince and The Pauper that romance readers of all ages will enjoy. On a two-week 1,500-mile road trip, Katie and Alex discover the end of the road might just be the beginning of their ‘Happy Ever After’ together.
