And so winter paves the way for spring...
It's almost my favorite season!!!!! 15 Days Until Spring, Ahhh!!!! I love love love love LOVE Spring. *SO* much. There was one day last week that felt like spring and I wanted to sit outside, but the ground was a little mushy. Buuuuut we're going to have a 70+ degree day this week, so as long as I'm not working and the ground is firm again after last week's snow (Thanks, Winter...), I'm definitely going to have to bring my outdoor chair out of hibernation!!!
Do you love Spring? Hate it? Are you a Winter Child and sad that the season is ending?
All of the Signings!
There were SO MANY awesome bookish events I attended in February!
For one thing, Marissa Meyer finally came to my town, ahhhh!!! I've known her online for so many years, and this was only the second time we'd ever met in person (The first only being last year at BEA!). Each time, it's been at a big event, though, so there isn't much time to talk!!!
I did a full wrap-up post on my blog if you're interested in her comments, etc, as well as pictures from the amazing event.
Here's one with Marissa, me, and two of the awesome girls (Kristin from Four Wolves in the Den and Vi from VI3TBABE):
In the morning, Epic Reads came to town with Victoria Aveyard and Sophie Jordan. I didn't get a chance to attend that event because I was REALLY sick. I stayed home and slept. I almost decided to go ahead and miss the evening Galentine Event featuring Sarah J. Maas and Susan Dennard, but I'd been waiting so long to see Susan, so I went over shortly before the event began. Most of my pictures didn't come out well because I didn't have a location, but here's one that sums up Sarah and Susan's relationship perfectly:
They're always laughing, and feed off one another in person. It was such a great event! I never got around to wrapping it up in a post, though--again, I was really sick for a while!
But it was awesome fun!!!
Nail Spam!!!
I did some fun things with my nails this month!!!
I didn't have enough time to do nail art for Marissa's event, so instead, I grabbed some fancy nail stickers I'd been saving that were decked out with gems:
I kept these on for about two weeks...in part because I was sick and lazy, but also because they still looked good!
My other favorite look was when I mixed a couple of colors together to make them match my periwinkle top and added rhinestones to my nails to get a fancy look for my nephew's Baptism:
(Yeah, that's the shirt in the background!!! It's a really frilly top with delicate sleeves!!!) I kept these painted until this past week, actually!
Pictures of the Month
You want MORE pictures!?
Here are some more book-related moments:
Here's a book splurge!! Long story, but I was having a REALLY bad week, and then I got some good news, so I splurged and bought THREE books. A GATHERING OF SHADOWS by V. E. Schwab was signed (!!!!!!!!!!!), THE SHADOW QUEEN by C.J. Redwine is SO BEAUTIFUL in person, and Ih ad NO CLUE that Patricia McKillip had a new book out (KINGFISHER)! I topped off the purchase with a caramel latte and an almond croissant. Mmm!!!
Valentine's Day!!!! Bookish Love From Me to You!!!!
Getting ready for Marissa Meyer's event!!!
I just really like how this came out!!!
Book Art!!! I love the dust jacket hiding beneath the cover of REIGN OF SHADOWS by Sophie Jordan and made sure to include it in my review. Have you peeped yet!?
Finally, here's a sneak peek at an image from a post you'll see sometime in March! It's all filmed and everything, I just have to edit the video together and make a post!!! What could it be!?
Every year, I eagerly anticipate the Barnes and Noble 40% off Soundtrack Sale. It happens February/March each year. Stacked with a member discount of 10% and, if available, a coupon, you can get a GREAT DEAL. And luckily, there were a few coupons out this year!!!
I wound up with five awesome CDs that I've been listening to in February and will continue listening to in March!
So far, I've only seen Something Rotten, On the 20th Century and Finding Neverland, but only because The Light Princess and The Hunchback of Notre Dame played nowhere near me and Hamilton tickets are sold out through 2017! ^.~
MOVIES AND TV
I finally caught up on shows like Agent Carter and Galavant, as well as tried out some of the new fantasy series that began airing recently. I'm still determining if I'm too squeamish to handle them ^.~
I did purchase THE GOOD DINOSAUR, and I'm looking forward to finally watching it!!!
That was my February.
How was yours???
Here's a look at everything that happened in February!
