What if you woke up one morning, planning to go about your humdrum, absolutely average life … and discovered you were really a princess?

That’s just what happens in Meg Cabot’s Princess Diaries novels… and now again, in her latest middle-grade adventure From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess.

Follow along on this blog tour adventure as bloggers walk in the footsteps of Mia Thermopolis and Oliva Grace Clarisse Harrison and discuss what would happen if they became princesses themselves!

I'm so excited to be included on this blog tour, bookworms! I love The Princess Diaries and Meg Cabot in general. When I heard that in 2015, she was coming out with an adult sequel, ROYAL WEDDING, AND a middle-grade companion novel, FROM THE NOTEBOOKS OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCESS, I wanted to read them both! (I also want to wake up ridiculously early during BEA to attempt to get a ticket to meet Meg Cabot later this month, but that's another story!!!)

I'm so, so pleased to be on tour, especially when the topic is SO MUCH FUN!!!

What would happen if I
WOKE UP ONE MORNING
and discovered that...
I WAS ROYALTY!?

I think the very first thing I would do is PARTY. There would be a LOT of bed-jumping and screaming going on!

Me, a princess!?

I mean, think about how obsessed I am with fairy tales. Those stories are FULL of princesses and princes, of kings and queens, of knights and warlocks. Okay, so maybe I wouldn't be a medieval princess. BUT STILL. It would be like I was living out a real-life Disney movie!!!

...Oh, wait, they already did that. It's called Enchanted. Ooooh, does that mean I get to be animated, too!?

And then...I would probably want to read every fairy tale novel EVER just because I could, which means...

A ROYAL LIBRARY!!!

I so would commission someone to make a royal library for me if my new palace didn't come with one! I was OBSESSED with Beast's library growing up and SO jealous of Belle. I think every bookworm shares this envy!!!

PRINCESSES HAVE TO TRAVEL A LOT FOR WORK.

I  know, boo-hoo, right? I looooove to travel. If I could afford to, I would visit (and then re-visit!) so many countries. I want to explore their history, eat their food, meet their people. As a princess, I would be an ambassador of my own country.

Traveling as a princess wouldn't always be FUN. Sometimes, I would visit a country and never see anything because I'd have back to back meetings from the moment my plane touched down until the second it took off again. But sometimes, there might be an hour or a day between meetings to take in the sights and quench the travel bug lurking within me. It also would give me a chance to see what various social problems afflict each country, and perhaps attempt to help.

Which brings me to my next duty as princess...

IT WOULDN'T BE ALL FUN AND GAMES.

If I had an infinite amount of money, I would like to do more good in the world. I would want to start with SCHOOLS. There are so many countries where schools are underfunded. Heck, there are schools in my own state without enough funding. But in retrospect, our schools are amazing compared to some countries, which don't even have school buildings or proper supplies. How can we teach a future generation of children successfully and pass down the past into immortality if we can't properly teach them?

Title: FROM THE NOTEBOOKS OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCESS
Author: Meg Cabot
Release Date: May 19, 2015
Publisher: Macmillan // Feiwel & Friends
SUMMARY:

Olivia Grace Clarisse Harrison has always known she was different. Brought up by her aunt's family in New Jersey, book-and-music-loving Olivia feels out of place in their life of high fashion and fancy cars. But she never could have imagined how out of place she really was until Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia, pops into her school and announces that Olivia is her long-lost sister. Olivia is a princess. A dream come true, right? But princesses have problems too.

In FROM THE NOTEBOOKS OF A MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCESS a new middle grade series, readers will see Genovia, this time through the illustrated diaries of a spunky new heroine, 12 year old Olivia Grace, who happens to be the long lost half-sister of Princess Mia Thermopolis.

The original Princess Diaries series sold over 5 million copies in the US (15 million worldwide), spent 82 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list, and inspired two beloved films.
