One of my favorite fairy tales EVER is Beauty and the Beast. When I was little, I wanted to BE Belle. She had brown hair like me and come on, that library!!!
When I was older, I was pleased to find that Robin McKinley had rewritten the tale, and BEAUTY became one of my favorite fairy tale retellings. A few years ago, I discovered HEART'S BLOOD by Juliet Marillier, and that became my favorite retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This year, I discovered A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas, which is now also an all-time favorite retelling. If you love Beauty and the Beast as much as I do, you're going to want to buy this book next month when it comes out because it is AMAZING and one of my 2015 favorites so far! (Check out today's review!)
This year for Fairy Tale Fortnight, I knew I wanted to review both ACOT&R, Kate Avery Ellison's THE CURSE GIRL, BEASTKEEPER by Cat Hellisen (Which I didn't get a chance to r&r for FTF, but Misty did!), THE ARTISANS by Julie Reece (Again, I didn't have a chance to r&r, but Julie stopped by FTF for both an interview and a guest post on fashion..and if you click either of those links, there's still time to enter to WIN A COPY!), and AI OF THE MOUNTAIN by Dorian Tsukioka (Again, no time to r&r, but Dorian did both an interview and a guest post for FTF, and you AGAIN still have time to enter to win a copy!).
Wait a minute, wait a minute, hold up!
That's FIVE retellings right there. There were even MORE that Misty and I talked about featuring that are coming out this year. That's when I noticed how many brand-new retellings are on the way.
If you love Beauty and the Beast as much as I do, you're going to want to check out these brand-new upcoming B&B tales. TBR them on Goodreads now!
The following list is in order of release date.
(3 of the titles are from Nov/Dec 2014, but close enough to 2015 that I still counted them!)
