There are NOT ENOUGH WORDS  for how much I love Rae Carson's high fantasy trilogy. (Plus, it's finished! You don't have to wait for ANYTHING!) Serious love. Everyone needs to read it (even if you don't super love the first book!). It just gets better and better and better. Rae Carson is amazing, and last year, the finale was my favorite book of the year!
If you haven't tried it out yet, YOU MUST!!!! THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS is book one, and a great deal!!!
My Review: THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS, THE CROWN OF EMBERS,
THE BITTER KINGDOM

Okay, shame is involved here. I wanted PROPHECY by Ellen Oh since before it had a cover. I pre-ordered it. Now it's out in paperback and there's a sequel. And I still haven't read it. But I want to!!!  It's a high fantasy set in an alternate version of South Korea. Yes please!!!

THE TAIL OF EMILY WINDSNAP by Liz Kessler is, of course, the first book in a story about a half-girl half-mermaid named Emily! I think the books are so cute, and they get much more involved later in the series when we start encountering unique mer-lore. Take the plunge with book one now!
My Review: EMILY WINDSNAP AND THE SIREN'S SECRET,
EMILY WINDSNAP AND THE LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN

If you're a fan of high fantasy, then Megan Whalen Turner's best-selling series is an absolute must read. It should already be on your bookshelf. If it isn't, though, now is a great time to snag book one, THE THIEF, at a steal!!! (Do you see the pun? Do you, do you?? ^.~)

I adore GRAVE MERCY by Robin LaFevers! I gushed all over it when I reviewed it. For $1.99, if you take a chance on nothing else, take a chance on this! It's historical fantasy, and there are assassins. And original mythology. And romance! Interested yet?
My Review: GRAVE MERCY, DARK TRIUMPH

I know next to nothing about KEEPER OF THE LOST CITIES by Shannon Messenger. The cover first caught my eye, as Jason Chan covers almost always do. And it's a middle-grade fantasy that people have been buzzing about online, so I want to read it. I just haven't picked it up yet. Now's my chance--and yours, too!!!

Ready for another embarrassing secret? I've never read fantasy power player Terry Brooks. And he's an all-time best in the genre!!! Right now, there's an omnibus of the first three books in his best-selling series entitled THE MAGIC KINGDOM OF LANDOVER at such a low price? What am I waiting for???

HALF UPON A TIME by James Riley is a middle-grade book I've looked at several times at the store, but never purchased. Fairy tales for the win!!! You know I need to own every fairy tale retelling in existence! This one stars Jack, the son of the infamous Jack and the Beanstalk, and the adventures he gets into. It sounds really cute!

So Kat and I got to meet Erin Bowman when she was on tour last year during Young Authors Give Back. She's really, really nice, and TAKEN sounds awesome. So does its about-to-be-released sequel FROZEN. I just need to get back into the dystopian groove, because I'm really eager to read this! And that cover is AMAZING, especially after seeing the cover story of how they did the shoot atop some awesome mirrors.

What great deals have you indulged in recently?

...which of these books will you snag?
I'm curious!

  1. Ooooh, nice! I got The Crown of Embers last summer for a good price, but still haven't read it - and now The Girl of Fire and Thorns is on sale! *happy dance* Bought it. :) Thanks so much for letting us know about these deals!

  3. Grave Mercy was a good book. I can't say enough good about Girl of Fire and Thorns; it is awesome! The Emily Winsap book was a bit shallow (excuse the pun) for even jr. high readers, I thought.
I'll go have a look at a couple of the others. Thanks for posting this.
