Teaser Tuesdays: AUDITION by Stasia Ward Kehoe

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

To participate:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today, I began prepping for next month's tour stop...annnnnnnnnnnnnnd something special that's coming, but mmmmmm, I'm keeping it under wraps for now! ^.~

I've been so excited about AUDITION. Not only is it a ballet novel... It's in VERSE. (Actually, there are a lot of verse novels coming out now; Ellen Hopkins really paved the way for other genres!)

AUDITION by Stasia Ward Kehoe

“I know I said I wanted this chance
To dare this dream.
Yet now I wonder how
They let me go--
Whether leotards and leg warmers
Will mask my sense of abandonment.”

(~pg. 39 [ARC edition; changes may be made before book launches in print on Oct. 13, 2011.)

  1. This sounds really good, but so far I haven't been able to get into verse novels, they just don't go with the way my brain works.
