Bout of Books: READING CHALLENGE!!

From August 22nd to August 28th, read as many books on your TBR as you can! You can participate even if you're not a blogger! Post your progress on your blog, on Twitter, on Facebook, on GoodReads, etc. There will also be fun CHALLENGES and GIVEAWAYS!!

Today, A Backwards Story is hosting a FUN CHALLENGE! ^.~

Has school already started back up for you or your children...or is it about to? Do you wish you were back in school again? (Every so often, maybe...!) With the Back to School season officially upon us, I thought... What better way to create a challenge than to use a SCHOOL THEME?

SO TODAY'S CHALLENGE IS....

Read a book with a strong school setting this weekend! It doesn't count if they're only briefly at school. Even if you're not participating in Bout of Books, you can still participate in this weekend's challenge!!

Winners will receive...

Bragging rights!

Okay, okay. You'll also get an awesome BANNER to display! I created two different banners centered around two different important aspects of school life: Friends and Significant Others. The images both come from a stationary/gift item series in Japan entitled 一期一会 (Ichi go Ichi e). The term basically means "once in a lifetime." I kept seeing cute cartoon characters with this phrase on notebooks, clipboards, etc. when I taught in Japan and the phrase really stuck with me. Plus, what is school if not a once in a lifetime opportunity to forge certain relationships and mentalities? What better picture to use when issuing a button? :)

You can choose from this lovely button: (My personal favorite!)

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this fun button!!!!

Even better? If you send your info to abackwardsstory (at) gmail (dot) come with subject line: BOUT OF BOOKS CHALLENGE, I'll personalize the banner for you!!

What will you be reading? I'm planning to finally dive into Printz Winner JELLICOE ROAD by Melina Marchetta. I'm really excited! I'd LOVE to hear what you're going to read/are reading. Leave me a comment with a link for everyone to see and / or send a tweet to @abackwardsstory. Good luck, everyone!!!!

If you read something earlier this week and don't have a new school story to read, you can still count it, but it's better if you're reading it this weekend and adding it to your challenge pile! :)
