Can't Wait For...Yesterday's New Releases and *10* of Next Week's Titles! Please order now from your local indie or BN to help keep them in business! :)

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Hi Bookworms!

Okay, I'm once again going to do something different for Waiting on Wednesday.

Normally, I like to pick a book with a recently revealed cover and talk about how hyped I am.

But the economy is hurting right now, and if you have the money to support still-open or delivering indie bookstores and Barnes and Nobles, it will help keep them in business.

Right now, Amazon doesn't need your money the way our indies and BNs do.

Yes, so do B&Ns! They've been in a lot of financial trouble and Amazon has significantly hurt them as well. In my area, we have two BNs. We only got our first indie last year. I have been shopping there for years and need them to stay healthy, too, and a lot of other readers are in the same boat!

If you want to still have a bookstore when this is over, call your local, or a friend's local if your area is okay because they can still ship to you if you pay over the phone!

There are a lot of books coming out next few Tuesdays that I desperately want. I figured I will feature them here, and if they sound good to you, maybe you can order a few, support a shop, and have new books next week?

I'll change my WoW to this format for the next period of time, what do you think?

I did this last week as well, if you want to look at yesterday's new releases (and the week before!) as well.

And...

Here's a photo from my Instagram yesterday with this week's new releases I'm most excited for, and a little bit about why!

Happy #NewReleaseTuesday! Which books are you most excited to dig into this week? This week, I don't have physical copies of a lot of my #mostanticipated yet since we're trying to #flattenthecurve, so I did a #bookstack featuring the first book in each series instead, and then manipulated in yesterday's cover reveal + surprise JLA drop, which I can't wait to order! (Also pictured: my lovely red carnation souvenir from when I saw @hadestown on Broadway last year!) 📚 I was SO EXCITED to see the cover reveal and immediate release of FROM BLOOD AND ASH by @jennifer_l_armentrout! It's her first high fantasy, and I'm going to stalk the BN website until I can get my hands on a print copy!!! Another indie title I'm super excited for is series finale THE QUEEN OF VEILS by @susherevans, which I have been DYING to get my hands on. I can't wait for my preorder to ship! (I'm featuring the first book in the series, THE CITY OF VEILS, instead -- this is the GORGEOUS @faecrate edition! I wish I had a matching set, lol!) 📚 I also can't wait to see what a finished copy of WIZENARD: SEASON ONE looks like. The series was created by the late #kobebryant and co-written by @wesleykingauthor. @Granity Studios has put in a lot of work on this series. I am excited to see if the new book is just as gorgeous in person as the first title in the series, TRAINING CAMP, pictured here is! Finally, I AM lucky enough to already have a finished copy of WE ARE THE WILDCATS by @siobhanvivian in my hands thanks to @simonteen, and started reading it just this morning! 📚 Hopefully, some of these are on your list this week as well. If you have the funds, an indie bookstore or BN would love to help you place an order for this week's latest titles, and the authors would ALSO love it because their tours have been cancelled. Plus, new books for you to read while you #quarantineandchill, of course! 📚 #bookstagram #instabooks #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookshimmy #bookaholic #bookcollector #bookworm #booknerd #booklover #bibliophile #ireadya #amreading #newrelease #yafantasy #ireadmg #shelfie #bookshelfie #livrestagram #hadestown #tbrpile #somanybookssolittletime

For next week, there are SO MANY books on my radar that I want! Seriously, I mean, just look at these TEN books on my TBR (Well, I've already read a couple, phew, but you know!)

1. EMPIRE OF DREAMS by Rae Carson
(The Girl of Fire and Thorns is one of my all-time favorite YA fantasy trilogies, and I have been SO excited to return to the world! I've already read this one, and it was fantastic. It definitely stands on its own and can pull in new readers, but it does have a few end-game spoilers for the original trilogy and fans will love seeing familiar characters and where they are now. I also have to say, reading this book was like reading Hector's novella THE KING'S GUARD or reading Tamora Pierce's Alanna Song of the Lioness quartet!)
2. HOW MUST OF THESE HILLS IS GOLD by C. Pam Zhang
(I discovered this in January at ALA because it was one of Penguin's spring lead titles AND IT HAD GOLD GILDED PAGES. If you're going to spend that much on a galley, I already want to know more! Plus, it takes place during the gold rush, features two orphans, and has a lot of Chinese symbolism. I think I'm going to read this one next, actually!)
3. CHOSEN ONES by Veronica Roth
(I grew up watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and reading books where someone was a "Chosen One." I still read and watch the trope. But what happens AFTER? After the final, powerful showdown? Once the world is normal again? How dose a hero slip into an ordinary life? I just...I don't know. I like looking at this trope from all angles, and I love that CHOSEN ONES deals with fallout. I've already read this one, and while it wasn't quite what I was expecting, I very much enjoyed it and am eager to get my hands on the signed copy I pre-ordered!)
4. RUTHLESS GODS by Emily A. Duncan
(The second book in the Something Dark and Holy trilogy. I have my copy pre-ordered from Owlcrate, of course I do! They just posted that they still have a few copies left, so if you also want an exclusive, now is your chance!)
5. SIN EATER by Megan Campisi
(I enjoyed THE SIN EATER'S DAUGHTER by Melinda Salisbury. I hadn't heard of sin eaters before that, and the concept is fascinating. I really like the spin on it where this is punishment (sort of like the start of POISON STUDY by Maria V. Snyder). Plus, it's pitched as HANDMAID'S TALE meets ALICE IN WONDERLAND!
6. SWORD IN THE STARS by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy
(The sequel to ONCE AND FUTURE, a sci-fi gender-bent, kick-ass King Arthur retelling!)
7. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU by Marisa Kanter
(I met Marisa online years ago when we were judges on a panel for a book award. We've kept in touch, and I'm SO excited for her debut! If you love YA contemporary rom-coms, you are going to EAT UP this story about falling in love anonymously online!)
8. THE GLASS MAGICIAN by Caroline Stevermer
(Circuses and magicians. It's truly all I need to hear -- especially when there is a really strong summary to grab my interest!)
9. YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER by Sarah Hogle
A rom-com where a couple is engaged, figures out they no longer are in love, swing to hate-to-love, and fall back in love? I've been hearing really good things about this one and it sounds like just the right sort of book to read during quarantine!
10. ARU SHAH AND THE TREE OF WISHES by Roshani Chokshi
(The third and penultimate book in the Pandava Quartet is here! This has to be my favorite of all the series in the Rick Riordan Presents line, and I have grabby hands for more adventures!)

I hope you'll consider buying a couple of these books this week or next if you can afford it to help support your local indies and BNs!
