Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. |
Hi Bookworms!
One of my favorite memes to do from time to time was Waiting on Wednesday, where I could gush to you about upcoming books I was excited to read! I was really sad when Jill at Breaking the Spine stopped hosting them, but JUST found out that Tressa at Wishful Endings picked it up again with a new twist -- now we have Can't Wait Wednesdays!
There are SO MANY amazing books coming out this year, and I'm excited to be able to highlight some of them for you.
Today, I want to start with my #1 most anticipated debut novel of 2019, by a fellow blogger, no less! I feel like I've been waiting for this for AGES!
Ahhh, isn't this new cover epic?? That framing, that scenery, that cloaked figure, that arrow in the title!
It comes out on May 14th, which isn't that far away anymore!
Take a look at this summary and tell me your fantasy-loving heart doesn't want to TBR it immediately as well!!

Title: WE HUNT THE FLAME
Author: Hafsah Faizal
Author: Hafsah Faizal
Release Date: May 14, 2018
Publisher: Farrar, Straus and Giroux / Macmillan
People lived because she killed.
People died because he lived.
Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the king. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways.
Both are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya—but neither wants to be.
War is brewing, and the Arz sweeps closer with each passing day, engulfing the land in shadow. When Zafira embarks on a quest to uncover a lost artifact that can restore magic to her suffering world and stop the Arz, Nasir is sent by the king on a similar mission: retrieve the artifact and kill the Hunter. But an ancient evil stirs as their journey unfolds—and the prize they seek may pose a threat greater than either can imagine.
Set in a richly detailed world inspired by ancient Arabia, WE HUNT THE FLAME is a gripping debut of discovery, conquering fear, and taking identity into your own hands.
