Spot the Difference: The PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY Edition -- Win a Copy of this New Release From Laurie Boyle Crompton!

Follow the tour schedule to find more reviews, guest posts, and more!

Hi Bookworms! Remember me? It's been a hot minute, hasn't it? I have a TON of posts and videos ready to put together for you, but I've been sick AGAIN and haven't had the energy to put it all together and post it. I'm so sorry! I'll be much more active soon, though! Heck, I'm still reading a carryover from 2018 AND this book, PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY--so you'll see my review next week, later on the tour.

Instead, we're going to play a really fun game today. PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY is loosely inspired by the film Groundhog Day. Would YOU want to re-live the same day again and again and again? Well, I'm about to put you to the test...sort of! Relive this game again and again and again with...Spot the Difference! I've staged a few photos Instagram style (Come follow me @abackwardsstory! I'd love some new friends! ♥). There is ONE thing in each photo that's different. Can you find the difference each time? Get ready to become very familiar with this pretty cover! Let me know if you think the game is easy, hard, or a mix. I'm hoping for a mix, but I've never done this before, so... *bites nails* {Yes, there IS an answer key below at the VERY bottom of this post! I wouldn't leave you hanging!)

Oh, and hey, while you're here, I've previously reviewed two other books from Laurie Boyle Compton,  BLAZE (Or Love in the Time of Supervillains) and ADRENALINE CRUSH. Check them out!

I. Pink or blue, pink or blue? Which color to focus on!?
(Um, okay, who at the design studio was Flora and which was Merryweather!?)

II. Are you blue that the answer!?
(Actually, this picture looks more aqua, doesn't it? It's actually a little truer to color here!)

III. No, make it pink!
(Wait...didn't we already have this argument? Deja vu...)

IV. I give up. All of the above. PLUS WHITE!!!
(I really loved putting this picture together  I've always wanted to do one. It's harder than I thought to round up all the right color books AND find book spines that are not just white, but have gold/silver/pink/blue and no other color writing! And then my deckled edges looked so yellow against all that pure white... Mad props to the bookstagrammers who do this ALL THE TIME!)

V. We're doing this AGAIN!?
(Last time, I promise! Blink YA is a fairly new imprint, and they've published a ton of great books. Here are a really few great ones published in 2018, along with their brand-new release, PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY!

Was this fun? Should I do it again? Or should I never ever go there again because it was way to easy! Was one too hard? Answers below, but first, a summary about PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY, info about author Laurie Boyle Crompton, and a giveaway, where you have a chance to win a copy of the book!

A mashup of Groundhog Day and Pretty in Pink, the book stars a senior who is forced to relive the first day at her new school in an endless loop. Andie is convinced she needs true love's kiss to break the curse, but instead discovers how a high school filled with cliques and misfits can find common ground despite everyone's differences.

Laurie Boyle Crompton is the YA author of the upcoming PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY (Blink/HarperCollins 2019) as well as ADRENALINE CRUSH (Macmillan/2014, Square Fish/2016), BLAZE (or Love in the Time of Supervillains), THE REAL PROM QUEENS OF WESTFIELD HIGH and LOVE AND VANDALISM (Sourcebooks/2013, 2014, 2017). Growing up in ‘Pennsyltucky’ in the 1980s, Laurie couldn't wait to escape rural life. After saving up her tips from waitressing at a local greasy spoon at 18 she packed up her acid wash jeans and moved to NY. Where everyone else had stopped wearing acid wash.

She graduated first in her class from St. John’s University with a BA in English and Journalism. Since then she’s written for national magazines like ALLURE, survived a teaching stint at an all-boy high school, and appeared on Good Day New York several times as a Toy Expert. And yes, ‘toy expert’ is an actual profession. Really.

She has lived in places like Orlando, Florida where she and her husband spent all of their spare time and money visiting theme parks before moving to the Cotswolds in England for six months, which was every bit as cool as that sounds. The Cromptons are now back in New York where their two children resent never going to Disney.

Laurie occasionally enjoys hanging out in fields of blooming flowers and also refering to herself in the third person.
