Week in Review: The Bargain Edition

T h e  B a r g a i n  E d i t i o n !

I bought two books at a bargain price from Amazon and snagged two free e-books, so it's a bargain of a week for me!

GIVEAWAYS:

*Hardcover copy of PUSHING THE LIMITS by Katie McGarry {Courtesy of HarlequinTeen}
- 3 more days to enter!
READING NOW:

*SURVIVE by Alex Morel (Oops, I forgot to add this one to my video! ^^;)
*SIRENZ: BACK IN FASHION by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman {Need to make time to pick this back up!}

[link to my GoodReads account so you can see my blurb feed as I read]
READ THIS WEEK:

*FEARLESS by Brigid Kemmerer
*THE ASSASSIN AND THE PIRATE LORD by Sarah J. Maas
*THE ASSASSIN AND THE DESERT by Sarah J. Maas
*THE ASSASSIN AND THE UNDERWORLD by Sarah J. Maas
*THE ASSASSIN AND THE EMPIRE by Sarah J. Maas

[Also a couple of DNFs, so it wasn't all series-related novellas!]
FEATURES:

*THE PERFECT GIFT FOR WRITERS

[This week was really lame, I know!!  I blame the Olympics. ^.~]
RECEIVED THIS WEEK:

Physical Arcs / Finished Copies:

*UNWHOLLY by Neal Shusterman
{Sequel to UNWIND, which has one of the most memorable creepy scenes in teen fiction!}

 Purchased:

*LOSING LILA by Sarah Alderson
{The sequel to HUNTING LILA, which I read earlier this year but have yet to review... ^^;;  Imported this one from Book Depo and am excited to read it!}

*SNOW FIRE SWORD by Sophie Masson
{This was a bargain book from Amazon.  I bought it after drooling over Masson's new novel MOONLIGHT & ASHES, which is a new version of Cinderella that I hope gets licensed internationally because I want to read it!}

*CHINA: Land of Dragons and Emperors by Adeline Yen Mah
{Another Amazon bargain book! This had some good reviews and sounds like it's a fun, easy way to read about China.  As a writer, I always love reading about other cultures and picking up tidbits here and there.}

*FEARLESS by Brigid Kemmerer
{Another novella from Kemmerer, this one revolving around the mysterious Hunter.}

 E-books for Review:
*LULLABY by Amanda Hocking
{Out Nov. 27, 2012}
{Thanks to Edelweiss and St. Martin's Griffin!  This is the sequel to WAKE, which I reviewed during Splash. More mermaids, yay!}

 FREE e-books:
*SCARS by Cheryl Rainfield
{This one was being offered for free on Kindle (sadly, not for my nook), and it sells really well and gets good buzz, so I snagged it for the "someday" pile.}

*BECOME by Ali Cross
{I don't know much about this other than the fact it keeps coming up when other mythological novels are mentioned, so when I saw it for free on my nook, I snagged it.}

BORROWED:
*SURVIVE by Alex Morel
{I forgot to throw this one into the video, but I borrowed SURVIVE to read this week.  I've been looking forward to this one!}

What did you get in your mailbox this week?

  3. Losing Lila looks pretty good! I love the core on Lullaby, but I really need to get my hands on Wake before I can read that one! I hope you enjoy everything and thanks for stopping by my IMM =)

  4. Those Unwind books keep getting mentioned everywhere. I have to admit, I'm kind of turned off by the covers, though everything I hear about them make them sound like something special and worth reading. I need to get over my cover judgyness :P

  5. I just recently read Fearless. I was surprised that it takes place before Spark. I waited to read Spark until after Fearless came out. Oh well. Enjoy these great books.
