{Design Analysis Vlog} CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE by Tomi Adeyemi: Analyzing the BN EXCLUSIVE Edition!

You guys have heard me blubbering for MONTHS about how good CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE by Tomi Adeyemi is. It's a sensational debut, and one of my favorite novels of 2018 so far. I think it will still be a Top Favorite at the end of the year.

I reviewed the book back when it came out in early March. If you haven't read it yet, find out why you should right now! ^.~

Because I love the book so much, I was really excited to hear that there would be an exclusive edition. The BN edition is SO gorgeous. And you get not one, not two, but THREE exclusive items! If you take off the jacket, the color is exclusive, a gorgeous red! At the back of the book is a pull-out Clan Map Poster. There's even an annotated chapter to read. And it's not a rinky-dink, ho-hum, spoiler-free chapter, either. It's a really fantastic chapter, and it comes really late in the book. I was SO excited to read Adeyemi's hand-scribbled thoughts on this moment!

Okay, enough gushing. Here's a look at this gorgeous exclusive edition!

Author: Tomi Adeyemi
Release Date: March 6, 2018
Publisher: Henry Holt Books for Young Readers / Macmillan
SUMMARY:

Tomi Adeyemi conjures a stunning world of dark magic and danger in her West African-inspired fantasy debut, perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo and Sabaa Tahir.

Zélie Adebola remembers when the soil of Orïsha hummed with magic. Burners ignited flames, Tiders beckoned waves, and Zelie’s Reaper mother summoned forth souls.

But everything changed the night magic disappeared. Under the orders of a ruthless king, maji were targeted and killed, leaving Zélie without a mother and her people without hope.

Now, Zélie has one chance to bring back magic and strike against the monarchy. With the help of a rogue princess, Zélie must outwit and outrun the crown prince, who is hell-bent on eradicating magic for good.

Danger lurks in Orïsha, where snow leoponaires prowl and vengeful spirits wait in the waters. Yet the greatest danger may be Zélie herself as she struggles to control her powers—and her growing feelings for the enemy.
