Is anyone else obsessed with the TV series Once Upon a Time?

I am.  Watching it is one of the highlights of my week!

And boy do I want to talk about last night's episode!  I'm so glad it's Fairy Tale Fortnight, because this discussion now belongs on the blog, right? ^.~ (See below!)

But first!!

This week, I found out that Once is turning into a book series.  Well, maybe.  Disney Hyperion is testing the waters first with the release of REAWAKENED. If it does well, more books will follow!

According to Entertainment Weekly,
ABC’s Once Upon a Time is expanding its kingdom to the publishing realm with a new book series.
In what seems like a natural pairing for the show, Once Upon a Time is debuting a fantasy novel from Disney-owned Hyperion books.
The first title in what may be a series of books is titled REAWAKENED. It’s a novelization of the show’s first season and promises to give “fans of the show a whole new look at their favorite characters and stories.”
The narrative will be told in alternating points-of-view—that of Emma Swan (portrayed by Jennifer Morrison in the show) in the real world of Storybrooke, and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) in Fairy Tale Land.
The novel is written by Odette Beane, and based upon the TV series by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.
ABC has engaged in book tie-ins before, such as for its detective series Castle
REAWAKENED will be available first as an exclusive ebook on April 27, and then one week later in a paperback edition.

And for those lucky enough to stumble across it at their local bookstore (Or buy it as an e-magazine exclusively on nook), did you know that there's now a magazine series for Once from Titan Magazines?  In the same vein as Buffy, Dr. Who, and more, there's now a magazine series for Once, too (And while we're on the fairy tale kick, there's one for Grimm as well!):

Titan Books is also launching An Insider's Guide to Storybrooke on October 1st, 2013:

If you want something out now, did you know that the Once series repackaged some fairy tales for fans to peruse?  Just don't get too overly excited--these aren't the Once versions of the tales, but the beloved ones we already know and love.  Darn!  Missed opportunity, right?

Will you buy any of these?  What merchandise would you love to see?

And now....who wants to talk about last night's episode?

I will warn those of you not quite caught up--SPOILERS ABOUND!!

Okay, so...can we talk about Tamara for a minute here?  Who is she?  Do you think she's somehow from one of the other worlds?  She's HUMAN and not MAGICAL, but is there more to her?  A couple of episodes ago, I called that she was going to be HER, but I still don't know much else about her.

And August is back!!  I've been wondering what happened to him.  We saw him so briefly this season.  I had no clue his past was going to tie him to Tamara. Huh.  And he turned back into a child?  Nooo!  That traumatized me a little bit.  No more August?  *dies a little*  Well, at least we don't have to look at the weird CGI that made him "wooden" because it was a little distracting when it reached his neck/face...

And the Dragon!  Is it just me or when he started to reveal his magic, did that red steam shooting out of his nose not remind you of Mushu from Mulan?

And Robin Hood!!  I'm excited to see a new tale coming our way.  I haven't been paying close attention to spoilers (It's so much more fun to GUESS!  We've been right about a lot of stuff this year, too, whoot!), so I had no clue he was about to show up.  What will his role be?  And...we seriously have to wait a MONTH to meet him?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're doing a special behind the scenes episode, but I'm angry that we have to wait three weeks for THAT and then another week for a new episode.  That's an entire month.  Seriously, ABC?  I knew we wouldn't have a new episode next week because it's Easter, but a whole month!?  Not fair.  Not fair at all!

So tell me!  What are YOUR thoughts, your THEORIES? Let's discuss the latest happenings in Storybrooke!

  1. I heard about it on facebook a couple of days ago. I already preordered it for the Nook. I can't wait! I'm such a HUGE fan of the show. :)

    1. Yeah, someone mentioned it to me last week and I went looking up information. I was like, "Well, I have to post this during FTF!" And after Sunday's episode, it made sense to roll an episode discussion in, too....or so I thought, lol!

And yay, we both have precious nooks and not the K word! ;)

  2. LOL, yeah the CGI wooden-August kinda creeped me out a little. August/Pinocchio isn't my favourite character, so I'm not super upset about him turning back into a little boy (though I did feel a bit sorry for him, poor guy!). I think my first comment upon seeing that happen was actually something along the lines of, "Well, there goes *one* of Emma's love interests..." ;D

And it feels like we have to wait FOREVER before the next episode! Which happens to be one I feel like I've been waiting so long for anyway because it centers around Belle and Gold/Rumple. Though I'm interested to see how Robin Hood fits into the picture, too! WAY too long to wait :(

  3. Thanks for the info on those books! I'll have to do a post on them as well.

I already have the magazine! ^_^ ...But I haven't had time to read it yet. :P Wait, did you say they have one for Doctor Who? I got to look into that.

Onto the episode... I can't believe we have to wait a month! And I'm excited to see Robin Hood too!

Anyone else wondering where Hook is and what he's up to? He could be trying to get back to Storybrooke (I love that name!) to go after Rumple again, but he also might assume that his poison worked, and if that's the case what would he be doing now? Pillaging Manhattan?

I wonder what happened to Owen's dad, could he be locked up under the hospital?

And I wonder what Tamara's motivation for wanting magic is. Whatever it is something tells me it's not as noble as Owen's and I think that might end up dividing the two.

I also have to wonder what's going to happen to Snow, could she really become evil?

So yeah, I have a lot of questions, LOL!
