Want to know what it's like to be a crit partner? Here are some comments that ran through one's head! Both Wolf and Thorne are very important not just to SCARLET, but the entire series!
"SCARLET's Schmexy Male Characters from a Crit Partner's POV”
by Tamara Felsinger
by Tamara Felsinger
As Marissa’s lucky crit partner, I get to read multiple versions of each Lunar Chronicles story. On 31st October 2011, I received the first beta-ready version of SCARLET. Usually I give helpful comments, but occasionally there’ll be a part in the story that will provoke a strong reaction that’s all reader and nothing to do with being editor. Without giving much away, I thought I’d share my strongest reactions about Wolf and Thorne from that original draft of SCARLET. I think you can guess what the characters will be like from the comments alone.
WOLF
[Comment 4] I am already utterly in love with him. You’ve made him so vulnerable in this first chapter, and I’m uber sad he didn’t even get his tomato. I feel the same way towards him as I would towards a hopeful puppy.
[Comment 20] I. Want. Him.
[Comment 34] I want to cuddle squish him.
[Comment 101] Eee!
[Comment 102] Faaark, that is so hot. I’m having palpitations.
[Comment 116] GO WOLF. HE’S SO MINE.
[Comment 124] Swooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
THORNE
[Comment 8] Lol
[Comment 28] LOL!
[Comment 49] HAHAHA!!!
[Comment 79] Lol
[Comment 93] L-freaking-OL
[Comment 96] ♥
[Comment 103] Oh dear, I do love this guy.
[Comment 104] God, he’s killing me! :D
[Comment 121] LOLOLOL!
[Comment 123] Oh my god, this is the winningest statement of all winning statements. Ever.
I really hope that last statement remained in the final draft!
When I buy a copy I’ll let you know. I also remember laughing so hard at something Thorne said that I hit my head on the wall behind me. Ow. But worth it.
I hope you have as much fun reading SCARLET as I did!

Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.
As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.
