Mythological Mondays is a feature I created to spotlight books brimming with--you guessed it--mythology! I adore this sub-genre and can't wait to share my love with all of my fellow bookworms! This feature isn't just focused on novel reviews; it may also include interviews, looks at original mythological tales, etc. Please feel free to do this with me! If you guys ever do a mythological feature and want to join this and snag my lovely mermaid, I would LOVE to see the feature. Leave a comment for us all to see! It doesn’t have to be Greek mythology, or even mythology per say. It can be mermaids, unicorns, or heck, even fairy tales (because I’m too lazy to do a separate fairy tale feature…). It doesn’t even have to be every Monday. I’m sure there will be Mondays when I skip, too!
So I'm considering merging Mythological Mondays into a weekly feature that allows fairy tales and other lore to be included. I feel like I'd be able to update the feature on a more regular basis because I no longer have enough time to squeeze in mythology every single week, but if I mix it up, I can.
What are you thoughts? Do you like/hate the idea? Do you want it to remain as-is?
I'm also considering moving the day the feature posts because it competes with my Cover post right now, even though the Cover Crazy meme no longer exists (I'm also not sure I like my new title because revealing cover art is also limiting, but I'm still working on it.... and listening to suggestions, hint/hint!).
Would you rather have a couple of posts in one day or spread it out more? I always feel like I'm slamming you with info....
Thanks for the input!

Hi Bonnie
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see you merge the MM with fairytales and such making it one post each week.
I'd also be thrilled if you started your own Cover Crazy Meme and called its something because I have stopped doing mine and would love a reason to start up again and link with you. Mondays would be great for that MEME.

Really, you think so? Wouldn't it be like taking someone else's idea, though? I mean, I guess not if I reference back to them...?
DeleteIt's good to know there are people looking to link up again, though. Thanks for the suggestion :) I'll have to think on it.
And I still need to come up with a better name! Any ideas? ^.~
I don't feel like we would be taking the idea because that person isn't doing it any longer. I certainly would feel even better referencing the name of the blog where the idea originated from, though.
DeleteNo great ideas off the top of my head for a name...only silly ones like
"Once Upon a Time"
"Magical Mondays"
"Imagination Celebration"
When I studied fairy tales and modern literature, mythology was also lumped in there. Though they are different, they are also forms of folklore. So I say, go for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement! I've always been sad I made it just for mythology and didn't do anything similar for fairy tales because I love them as much--if not more--than mythology, but I didn't want to have two spotlights each week because that's a lot to read! :)
