RIP, Mermaid Muse ;_;

Taking a break from our week of fun and laughter, I just want to take a moment to remember the life of a little betta named Aria.  She's been my muse for over a year, giving me little ideas to incorporate into my mermaid novel.

Everyone says that fish don't have personalities and that they're boring, but my little girl loved to have fun!  Whenever I came over to the tank, she'd enthusiastically swim over really fast, wagging her fin tail like a dog begging for a treat.  She liked it when I sang to her or stuck my fingers in the water for her to nibble at.  When I fed her, she went nuts and ate like there was no tomorrow.  She was a really pretty girl, too, all pink with flashes of silver.

I found a video I never posted that toured my writing room and I've cut out the pieces with Aria so you can get a glimpse of my sweet little fish.

  1. Awww! I am sorry for your loss. I have a Betta (Button) whom I love and would be devastated if he died...

    1. I'm debating getting a boy this time. He'd look even more like a mermaid. I think if I got another girl right now, I'd be too sad!!!

      What colors make up Button? How long have you had him?

    1. Wasn't she? I saw her and thought she was so, so beautiful. I had to have her, even though I'd been going to get a boy.

      I know a lot of people think fish aren't pets the way dogs are, and while that's true, she still brought me a lot of joy!

      *hugs* Thanks, sweetie! <3
