Teaser Tuesdays (12)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

To participate:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter

"When that time finally came, not one soul watched as the girl with the soft pale skin climbed the stairs and slipped the small painting from the nail that held it. She walked to the window. And jumped."

I couldn't help it! Carter revealed the first two chapters of the second Heist Society novel today and I had to share it with all of you! Check it out!

And now for the e-book I just finished:

A Happily Ever After of Her Own by Nadia Lee

"The prosecutor cleared his throat. 'Your Honor, this isn't just a matter of simple trespassing or kidnapping.' He stared at Melinda like she were Snow White's stepmother. 'She's a Fairy Tale Killer.'"

  2. Why did no one notice her I wonder.

Two teasers from me this week - one from a very short story, and the other from a very long one! And one of them is an Aussie author in honour of Aussie Author month!

  11. I've never heard of Godmother or The Sevenfold Spell but I do look forward to reading AHEOHO.

Anyway, I hope you like IIS and WSW! And yes, I've read The Summer I Turned Pretty. I was very excited to read it, but it was nothing like I expected. The female MC really annoyed me. :(
