Physical ARCs/Finished Copies for Review:

*THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL by Soman Chainani
[Out May 2013]
{Thank you to HarperCollins for the ARC!  The cover for this is GORGEOUS, and fairy tales are involved, so you know I'm all over this one!  I'm going to save it for Fairy Tale Fortnight!}

E-ARCs for Review:

*THE STORYTELLER by Jodi Picoult
[Out Feb. 26, 2013]
{Thank you to Aria/Simon and Schuster and Edelweiss!  I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to see an ARC of my favorite author's newest book!  I'm already salivating!}

*REAL MERMAIDS DON'T NEED HIGH HEELS by Hélène Boudreau
[Out Feb. 1, 2013]
{Thank you to Sourcebooks Jabberwocky for the special e-book invitation!  This is the third in the series about a modern-day mermaid.  While I haven't read this MG series yet, it sounds like FUN, and there are two adorable upcoming tours.  Look for the first later this month!}

*ENCHANTED EVER AFTER by Robin D. Owens
[Out Dec. 18, 2012]
{Thank you to Luna/Harlequin and Netgalley!  This one has a fairy tale title and a reflection of the model as a mermaid.  Immediate want!}

PURCHASED:

*THE BLACK PRISM by Brent Weeks
{This one's been on my radar for a while, and I picked up a bargain hardcover for $3-something.  What a steal!}

{I love fairy tale retellings, so why NOT Mother Goose rhymes as well?  I love some of these authors, so I've been looking forward to this one!  Plus, some of the $$ goes to charity!}

*THE EVOLUTION OF MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin
{I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this one a few months ago, but have yet to review it.  I want to wait for it to be out a while first!  Here's my review of the first book, though ^_^}

*BECAUSE IT IS MY BLOOD by Gabrielle Zevin
{This is another one that I read an early ARC of and am holding off on a review until it's been out a while.  Again, I've already reviewed the first book!}

*THE SANDMAN by William Joyce
{This is one pretty picture book!  Reading it is like savoring a beautifully illustrated fairy tale.  I reviewed this one last month, as well as its predecessor, THE MAN IN THE MOON, and the new movie based on the series, RISE OF THE GUARDIANS.}

*THE MODIFIED by C.A. Kunz
{I went to college with Adam, and was excited to hear he started co-writing with his mother, Carol [Get it? C.A.?].  I reviewed the first book they wrote, THE CHILDE, and was excited to see the first book in their new series for only 99¢ on my nook!  Plus, it has a great cover, don't you think?}

FREEBIES:
(Some of these may no longer be free, but most of them still are.
Just because I use a nook doesn't mean the deals aren't also on Kindle! ^_^
These links take you straight to the websites with the deals, not Goodreads!}

FROM AUTHOR'S WEBSITE:

*AFTER THE BALL by Sarah Cross
{KILL ME SOFTLY was one of the sleeper hits of the year for me.  Warning: My review is pretty gushy!  I would have never looked twice at the book or thought it was a fairy tale with a cover like that, but I'm so glad someone told me about it!  I was even more excited, when checking to see if Sarah had any new upcoming deals, that she had a free short story from her world available on her website.  Score!  Get it here!}

FROM KINDLE:

*EVIE'S KNIGHT by Kimberly Krey
{Laura from Colorimetry/Burgandy and Ice introduced me to this title and will be hosting a blog tour soon!}

FROM NOOK:

*HEARTLESS by Anne Elisabeth Stengl
{I actually read this when it first came out.  I was into dragons b/c I'd just seen HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON at the theaters and read FIRELIGHT by Sophie Jordan, so I picked this up on a lark because it was dragons PLUS fairy tales.  I didn't realize she had other books in the series, but this first one is now FREE!}

*EVOLUTION by Kelly Carrero
{I randomly snagged this because it was free, sounded interesting, and has an awesome cover!}

*APHRODITE'S KISS by Julie Kenner

{I randomly snagged this as well, but it has a Greek title...and is about SUPER HEROES.  Sounds cool!}

What did you get in your mailbox this week?

  1. What a nice collection of new books! I already have Heartless and Aphrodite's Kiss on my Kindle. They must have been free sometime in the past too. I haven't had a chance to read either of them yet. My new books posts are at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Please stop by if you have a chance. Happy reading!
