Week in Review: The Manageable Edition

Week in Review

The Manageable Edition!

This week felt so...refreshing.  I received two books for review...and that was it.  Believe it or not, it felt NICE.

Some weeks, I'm overwhelmed at the amount of books I receive and don't know when I'll have time to read them all.  This week, a lot of my ARCs are expiring, for example, and I think I can renew a few of them, but there is no way I can read more than a couple in four days!  Even though I want the books a lot, this kind of situation makes me feel rushed, and like I "have to," and I forget why I wanted the book in the first place.

So yes, this week felt NICE.  Relaxing, manageable.  And both books sound great, which is always a plus!

RECEIVED THIS WEEK:

 E-books for Review:

*IRONSKIN by Tina Connolly
{Out Oct. 02, 2012}
{Thanks to Netgalley and Tor Books! A steampunk retelling of Jane Eyre with fairies? I'm not a big fan of fairies, but retellings, oh my!}

*THE TIME KEEPER by Mitch Albom
{Out Sept. 11, 2012}
{Thanks to Netgalley and Hyperion! I adore Mitch Albom.  TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE is one of my all-time favorite books, in part because it inspired me to write my first finished "long"  story back in high school.  I'm not saying it was good, mind you.  I did, however, right the first seven chapters in one go after finishing MORRIE and it was about a relationship between a boy and his ailing grandfather, which is nothing like MORRIE, but similar.  Anyway, I love Mitch Albom, and his new book is being tagged, "a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours. The man who became Father Time."  Yes, please!}

  1. I know what you mean about having too many review books. Sometimes I feel like I'm never going to get through all my review books. It feels nice when you have a smaller haul.

  2. I understand what you are saying about review books. Check out my State of the Stack post tomorrow when I talk about the books on my review pile. Ironskin sounds interesting but I refuse to go to NetGalley again (except to post reviews)until the end of August. My new books posts are at Inside of a Dog and Ms. Martin Teaches Media. Happy reading!
