Waiting on Wednesday: BITTERBLUE by Kristin Cashore

Today, for the first time, I’m participating in Waiting on Wednesday, a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. This event highlights our most-wanted upcoming releases!

To launch this properly, I'm featuring the #1 book I'm waiting for...and you probably already know it...but it is...

Title: BITTERBLUE
Author: Kristin Cashore
Release Date: May 1st, 2012
Publisher: Dial/Harcourt

WHY?

Gosh! I just adore Kristin Cashore. BITTERBLUE is one of my all-time favorite teen fantasy novels. I'm so excited to see where all the characters wound up. I know this book was very hard for the author to write; she poured her blood and tears into this one. I've gotten excited all over again after the big announcement earlier this month!

SUMMARY:
(There's not really a REAL summary yet, so this was pulled from the Publisher's Weekly article that started my long wait all over again! [Because I was doing well with waiting until the cover and date were announced...])

"The novel, which has an announced first printing of 200,000 copies and clocks in at a hefty 576 pages, picks up eight years after Graceling, with Bitterblue now 18 and the reigning queen of Monsea. Cashore says the story constitutes more of a companion than a strict sequel. Graceling fans, however, will likely be thrilled to learn that the heroine of that book – the different-colored-eyed Katsa – returns in Bitterblue, as does her lover, Po.

Other characters from Graceling appear, too, most notably (and unavoidably, since he is Bitterblue’s father), the nefarious King Leck, the only character who appears in both Graceling and Fire."

What are you anxiously waiting for this Wednesday?
